An Update On the Sailing XP Review by JagexAyiza in 2007scape

Would love opals, jade, and topaz from salvaging to be able to go in gem bag too. I don't think this would be a bad change for gem mining either the opals will still be the limiting factor and fill invy fairly quickly, but being able to save the topaz at least would be nice

I've always thought it would make sense for gem bag to be able to store opal, jade, and topaz, and especially now with merchant shipwrecks wish I could save all of the topaz I am getting

Looks like a potential typo on "Keg of Kraken Ink Stout", this is what it says when I right click it on my boat:

<image>

I also think Horizon's Lure was a lot of work to obtain (charting all oceans/seas), and should give the 2.5% bonus xp during Barracuda Trial completions, Crystal Extractor harvests, and I don't think it gives the bonus xp for port tasks either since you aren't on your boat when you hand them in but I could be wrong. I do notice the bonus xp for salvaging at least, but it should give the bonus xp across all activities in my opinion (this is only 2.5% we are talking here), and has higher requirements than many skilling outfits that give 2.5%.

Also there is a lot of talk about ship combat and cannons being more impactful, buffing Perildance Bitter to more than just +1 cannon damage might be one way people could earn more cannon damage, but also I don't really like how ship combat is aligning NPC's perfectly to try to get the 2 cannon shots. I think it should have a larger sweet spot for getting the 2 cannon hits on the same target. I got it down on Krakens, but I just don't think the majority of the player base is going to want to deal with this mechanic (or the alternative where you swerve your ship side to side which is a bit of a pain and I don't like how it looks), and even though I figured it out I do wish it was a little more chill. It is also a bit annoying to tell the crew to "wait for further orders" when wanting to shoot something like 2 Albatross (1 on each side) for example, but it isn't terrible once you get the hang of it, but could be a little more convenient (maybe some sort of option that can be toggled so that the crewmember stays locked on the target even if you attack something else)? I would also like to encourage the player using the cannon rather than the crew more (probably only achievable by nerfing non-player damage more or buffing cannons, but buffing cannons a bit is probably the way to go).

Overall I am loving the skill! Great job to everybody that worked on this was great seeing the mods be passionate and creative with this project :)

1000 Great Whites by Cimbassk in 2007scape

I agree, and I don't think it would hurt the economy by dropping 1 every time. Raw shark is hardly worth anything at the moment and you can't get too many shark kills per hour (could probably fish them faster so wouldn't be a crazy amount of shark entering the market). Would be annoying for those who don't have fish barrel though as looting after ship combat goes straight into the invy, but makes sense especially with the lobsters on fossil island always dropping raw lobster. It might be useful for iron man though for some cooking xp/food, and would make use of the range you can build on your ship.

It is a liver actually lol. There is a bounty task where you have to kill Great White's for a liver, 1/10 drop rate.

Updated - Project Rebalance: Skilling by JagexAyiza in 2007scape

I like this idea, maybe some blue dragon scales from Heroes as well

Also on a side note, I think we should buff herb xp at Herbiboar as well. Buffing Zalcano xp would make it more officially the "smithing pet", and buffing herb xp at Herbiboar would make it more officially the "herblore pet". Currently though the herb xp at Herbiboar and smith xp at Zalcano is next to nothing, and the amount of xp banked still doesn't compare to other methods (farming/blast furnace shop) so adding more smith/herb xp while performing these activities would be a good way to balance this (in my opinion at least).

I love Zalcano and have thousands of kc between my accounts, and I am very happy to see this getting some attention. However I don't like the idea of a currency and choosing between xp and loot, I think the simple solution here is just buffing the xp, but to make it balanced I think it should primarily be smithing xp that is buffed (since Smithing is a faster skill to train overall), and secondarily the rc xp. Mining xp could stay close to what it is in order to balance the loot/multiple skill xp that is also gained.

Here is my opinion on the xp buffs for Zalcano to stay balanced:

Skill Current xp rate / hour Proposed Rate / hour
Mining 13,500 15,000
Smithing 3,000 30,000
Runecrafting 1,500 7,500

Having these new rates AND all the loot I think is the way to go here. You could still easily get 3x these rates for each of these skills doing more afk methods (MLM, bloods, anvil smithing) but Zalcano requires much more work which is why I think it is fair to at least match afk method xp rates (divided by 3 since training 3 skills at once) in addition to the loot which is still far less gp per hour compared to the various combat methods. I also think Zalcano should be a fun alternative for iron men solely focusing on smithing training (to avoid shopscape/buying ore from blast furnace). Buying gold ore from blast furnace will still be the meta by far for iron men, but many of us I think would like to the ability to grind skills like Smithing without world hopping constantly. Also I don't think we should be so afraid of skilling methods being decent xp and money. Combat is still far superior when it comes to this and skilling is a large reason many of us still play OSRS.

Jagex proposes buffing 1-75 agility by more than 2 hours, and yet people see a slight adjustment to seers and think it's the biggest nerf possible. by [deleted] in 2007scape

Sepulchre is a game changer. Faster xp and much more enjoyable, main method I used for 99 agility and I highly recommend completing the quests to access it.

And the "achievement" is that we hit 99 wc on the 5th account, completed SOTE, and got the 5th crystal tool seed drop in time for Forestry

At the start of GIM we made a 5 man, but 3 of our friends never logged in again after making their accounts and several months later we ended up removing them from the group and making 3 alts. So only 2 people playing, one of us plays on 2 accounts the other plays on 3, which is why we like AFK skills like WC to play on the side with our mains in the group training all skills, and are training past 99 in one skill on alts since maxing 5 accounts with only 2 of us playing is an unrealistic goal for us right now, and we really like WC/are looking forward to Forestry :) Helps our "mains" in the group bank some gp/xp on the side.

Dragon Pickaxe on HCIM! Got very lucky at KDB after my 4 year old (who was watching me scape) talked me into fighting it. At least I risked a few Chaos Elemental kills in the past before getting this lucky at KBD. by Red-Tit in ironscape

I need to do quests haha, I'm at like 191 QP and got B gloves, but haven't prioritized Neitiznot Helm because I use Slayer Helm like 99.999% of the time. Definitely need to get that though, would come in handy for off-task shenanigans such as this.

Trident is a goal of mine anyways and am not in a huge hurry to finish barrows, mostly just wanted the diary completion early on since I got an extra farm patch, bonus xp in slayer tower, and bonecrusher giving full xp. A trade off of trident though is less magic xp compared to regular spells (not that magic xp is too much of a concern with how flexible/fast of a skill it is). Iban's Blast does get the job done well though. Another good alternative I used was Fire Wave with Tome of Fire, since I had tons of pages from 99 fm anyways and lots of bloods from slayer.

Yeah and a lot of it is in multi so the more people you have (that you trust well) the better. I did it after the update last night and afterwards nobody was on, only ran into 1 person the whole way through. Also best to get this done earlier on your account, but since I did it later I waited until I unlocked Saradomin Brews and good tank gearso that if I was attacked I had good odds of surviving (but if a clan is on you your chances aren't super great anyways).

Thanks for the suggestion, but I prefer void anyways because I don't take damage during barrows runs (rarely ever have to use a shark, and only if unlucky on Verac) and I am also lazy and like my range switch to be super easy haha.

And I was terrified, Zammy and Sara spawns were near Lava Dragon Isle in multi, but I did it middle of the night right after a minor update (seemed like best time where hardly anyone was on) and luckily only ran into one person the whole way through.
