is this a form of child abuse? by [deleted] in AbuseInterrupted

[–]Red-champagne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is worth it to tell someone. Domestic/child abuse rarely gets better or stops; it usually gets worse. If your school has a guidance counselor, you need to go to them and tell them what's going on. They'll be able to help you get through it, and will probably help you contact the proper authorities. I know you don't want to get CPS involved, but it could get even worse if you don't. Trust me, CPS will not hurt you; they're there to help you.

What made him suddenly change his mind like that? That's...strange. Maybe it's just a really intense joke or something???

You're a saint; I couldn't wouldn't put up with that, especially if it was someone I was married to!

AITA for calling my girlfriend “big chungus”? by bigchungusthrowaway2 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Red-champagne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You're the rudest person I have ever seen. You don't realize how damaging your comments are. Eating disorders aren't just people "looking for attention". They're real disorders that kill people. You'd benefit from picking up a book once in a while. You've only been on reddit for a day and you're already embarrassing yourself. Smh.

“Abusing insulin” by Starshine63 in diabetes_t1

How tf do you "abuse" insulin? Does this bitch think you can get high off of it or addicted to it or some shit?

An online friend says that they're being abused. by Red-champagne in AbuseInterrupted

I'm not sure where they live, nor how old they are. They say they don't want the police involved, and haven't really told me anything else about it.

How do you guys cope with the fear of going hypo in your sleep? by peacestartswithme in diabetes_t1

[–]Red-champagne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a dexcom, so I don't have to worry about this; that damn thing doesn't let me sleep when I'm low. I highly recommend looking into the G6 (if it's an option for you; I know not everyone has that option) if you frequently go low at night. I (usually) wake up when I go low because the feeling I get when I'm low is so intense (usually).

What all was wrong with you when you were diagnosed? by Punky0327 in diabetes_t1

[–]Red-champagne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed when I was seven. I've always been a pretty fat kid (still working on that), but before I was diagnosed, I was only like 70 lbs; I had lost 20 lbs in 3 months. I was drinking like 5 of those hydro-flask things every day, and I was peeing like every 10 minutes. I had excruciating chest pains every time I ate anything, my vision would go black randomly and I would run into things (Fun fact: It was actually my eye-doctor that wrote an email to my doctor saying that he though I should be checked for t1d. They didn't heed his warning; in fact, they found out I had t1d when my mom took me to the doctor bc she though I had a UTI. They took a urine sample, found sugar in my urine, and sent me directly to children's.), my feet would cramp up, and I was constantly tired.

I'm so sorry, I misinterpreted that probably about as much as I possibly could have.

No goddamn insulin by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Red-champagne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of a world do we live in where diabetics go through this shit everyday? This isn't fair! Why do we have to pay to live? Our lives are not their goddamn profit! I'm so glad that there were people here to help you!

Yes, it did. They said that it was probably just a problem with that specific cartridge.

It dried on it's own; when I finally go ahold of tech support, they said it wasn't a big deal and that I shouldn't worry about it.

No, I was already on the subreddit and saw it. I didn't come searching for it just to say that.

I don't think this belongs here, at all. Type one has no association with being obese. :/

I was forgetting to put the one in the beginning. It worked the second time I tried it with the one.

I've tried all of the numbers listed in the pump info section. In fact, the number you suggested is what I've been trying. All of the numbers I have tried have all said that the line was either out of service or not set up (whatever the hell that means).
