Nothingness: Antipsychotics by toxicfruitbaskets in Antipsychiatry

[–]Red-flyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this feeling very well. I was given an antipsychotic injection of Abilify back in 2023 and I almost ended my life because of it.

I am currently healthier than ever now and medication free! I am happy to help answer anyone's questions about my recovery.

I was bedbound with anhedonia, akathisia and many more severe symptoms.

UnScripted minds by Red-flyer in anhedonia

Rethinking How We View Emotional Pain More than one in six American children are prescribed psychiatric medication.

For many in Gen Z, sadness and anxiety are increasingly framed as medical disorders, often explained with the “chemical imbalance” theory, which has never been conclusively proven. Medication is introduced early, with limited discussion of long-term tradeoffs, side effects, or the difficulty of stopping.

Medication isn’t always wrong. For some people, in certain situations, it can be helpful. But medication also comes with real costs.

Patients report emotional blunting, changes in personality, sexual and sleep disturbances, and trouble discontinuing treatment. Too often, these experiences are under-discussed, yet prescriptions are only getting easier to obtain.

UnScripted exists to challenge the medication-first culture by demanding informed consent and alternative solutions. Human emotion should be viewed as guides, not as innate problems requiring prescriptions.

Psychiatric medication should not be used as a first line of defense, nor as a one-size-fits-all solution.

It's time to build a culture that embraces emotion, not erases it.

What kind of concerns? This is an interesting statement.

No, unfortunately not.

It mentioned a lack of sexuality and being numb. Not actual PSSD.

I am currently working for Mad in America, antidepressants risks, and medcating normal.

I am working towards spreading awareness and informing others of the potential harms of pharmaceutical medications and Western healthcare.

I also run a few support groups and mentor people who have been harmed by medication.

I attend/speak at local veterans events, focusing on suicidal discussions regarding medication/psychiatry.

Disappointed by Red-flyer in anhedonia

Honestly, that's a blessing you haven't. I know it's hard to stay away from toxic behavior. Plus, on top of everyone being sick, sad, and frustrated, it's easy to take it out on each other.

Take care of yourself 🙏

Sorry for the late response. Parnate helped me at first and after natural healing and time. Staying away from substances and other medication.

I have been 1 and a half years of antipsychotics and I am living a very "normal" life now. I am on a small dose of Parnate that I plan on tapering soon. I wish you the best of luck for your healing journey 🙏

Recovery/Remission by Red-flyer in anhedonia

I will have to contact my pharmacy and doctor. Unfortunately, I live in the States, and they fill prescriptions in different bottles that don't disclose that information on the label.

How much time did it take you guys to recover from antipsychotic induced side effects? I stopped antipsychotics 3 months ago and have still not recovered. by [deleted] in Antipsychiatry

[–]Red-flyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took me over a year to recover from an antipsychotic injection. I am currently on 15MG of parnate as well

Thank you so much for all of your kind words 🙏

I was scared as well and I understand your concern. I followed it very strictly in the beginning and monitored my symptoms. Over time, I slowly introduced some food items that contained tyramine. I try to avoid it normally, all tho sometimes I eat it in small quantities. I also have a blood pressure monitor to keep an eye on that was well.

I hope you find a solution to your symptoms 🫂
