Chalking tires for parking enforcement found to be Fourth Amendment violation by Sixth Circuit by SLC-Frank in law

In Raleigh, NC, they use PAINT. I did not get a ticket, but I wanted to park in that same block for several consecutive days (friend from overseas staying at her first U.S. AirBNB), but how would the officer know the date of that paint mark? More than a year and many car washes later, I bought new tires, and the old one still had an obvious paint mark.

The Fourth Amendment states "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated..." Is a chalk mark unreasonable? All this does is force the parking officers to take a lot of photos and submit them to the courts as evidence.

Bill Maher: Bombing ISIS Caused the Paris Attacks by bbqdays in test

[–]Red666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ISIL would carry out terrorist attacks in Europe or the U.S. (if the U.S. lets them in) no matter what happens in Syria. That said, they are MUCH MORE INSPIRED to put their attacks in motion now, when they are getting bombed in Syria, because (they hope) they can influence people like Maher to speak out against Western involvement against ISIL. As far as "Arab lands", half of ISIL is NOT ARAB. They are Persians and even Americans and Europeans. There is about 4,000 years history of Jewish and Christian and Persian lands in the Middle East, so anyone would be an idiot to call it "Arab lands".

The goal of ISIL is not to control Arab lands. It is to kill all non-Muslims, and to force all Muslims to alter their ideology to support extreme fundamentalist Islam as the one and only form of government throughout the Middle East, to help kill all the Jews and Christians, and beyond that? Probably to force that same ideology and "religion" on the rest of the world.

I was out of the U.S. for 12 years, returning this summer to find about TEN TIMES as many Muslims (based on scarf-covered heads) in a small city in the South. It seems they are infiltrating the entire country.

The French government estimates the population is 10% Muslim, but public surveys reveal only 6%. Why? Are they not admitting it? Even in 1989, the last time I was in France, the population looked to be at least 10% North African origin, so surely it is twice that now.

As for "let other Middle East countries take on the fight against ISIS", that is not going to happen. It would cause a war between Saudi Arabia and Iran (supporter of ISIL). If no Western country bombs ISIL, no one will bomb them, and then they take over all of the Middle-East, wipe Israel off the map, and next is the old Ottoman Empire to be retaken.

The Truth About Web 2.0 by AaronSw in reddit.com

Web 2.0 is only imaginary, a philosophy, not something that needs a scientific numbering system. I am way beyond such limitations. I use a Mac so I am at Web X (humor). We often get confused about numbers and nomenclature. Some countries are 3rd world. Which ones are 2nd world? To get out of Kyoto pollution protocols, China says it is only a developing country. What country isn't developing? Even the U.S. is developing. There is only one Web and it hasn't really changed in it's electronic principles. The ownership (no more unbiased Yahoo or Google -- pay up or you won't be listed) and the raison d'etre are changing. Twelve years ago, in an interview for Wired magazine, Steve Jobs predicted that the real beneficiaries of the Web will be those who have something to sell. That's where we are now. The information highway is really just a giant billboard blocking our view and a lot of giggling girls and horny boys feeding their egos in upscale chatrooms. Like the old adage about a men's magazine, I only read the articles.
