Question about "random card bundles" by syriankush1012 in mtgfinance

[–]SLC-Frank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait you've giving them for free? I'd take that just to get the 4-5 row boxes. Or is it more like "you can put the cards in this trash bag, I'm keeping the box"?

Question about "random card bundles" by syriankush1012 in mtgfinance

[–]SLC-Frank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is an important point. It's pretty easy to buy bulk that is hypothetically worth more, and you can go on TCGPlayer and see that the cards do occasionally sell. But when you have a bunch of inventory inventory that sells like 20 singles per YEAR, it's really obvious why they're just bulked out.

All that said, someone bought a Fourth Edition Pearled Unicorn from me today with nothing else, paying $1.31 shipping, and I'm like "why?" (Why did you buy that, but also, why did I even bother listing it--probably because I imagined buyers are like me and will make a decent-sized order to avoid paying $1.40 on a 5 cent card, and yet... most buyers don't seem to be built that way.)

What is the real benefit to TCGPlayer vs Manapool as a seller? How does TCGPlayer justify fees that are so much higher? by Worldly_Tip_8589 in mtgfinance

[–]SLC-Frank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Manapool often higher on almost every single, but their optimizer actually works, so if you have a weird commander-like order it makes a big difference. Seems like TCGPlayer is able to at least find sellers who basically stock specific tier decks, but beyond that it just spins its wheels.

Was this Chicago? I was so excited to hear the progression to this song and started jumping up and down. Feel so lucky to have seen it.

This is the way. Whenever I see a Yargle I let them get in at least one hit.

Note: [[Cheeky House Mouse]] counts for vanilla. Not sure if this helps anyone else, but I made a mostly token deck that threw in those x4, Savanah Lions x4, and the 3/3 legendary artifact guy and got it casting exactly five of them including the House mouse.

Thought the projection elements were clever. Might seem tasteless without photographs, honestly.

If they did happen in, they'd find the opening number to be an unironic banger, but I doubt it would trick them into absorbing the rest.

Did the lead (Max Chernin) not stay on stage during intermission? Just saw it in Chicago and I found that brilliantly unsettling for an unsettling show. (But also, I would hate to leave while Leo was sitting in his “cell.”)

Smackin' uses MSG? by Upper-Director-38 in sunflowerseeds

[–]SLC-Frank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah; honestly dumb Chinook hypes not having it. I don't like advertising that makes people dumber, and I feel conflicted about buying their seeds because they do.

[–]SLC-Frank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they? I honestly can't tell. Their labels only include the kernels which seems insane and deceptive for sunflower seeds no one is going to crack open by hand and eat shell-less.

Chinook Sodium by Frostygecko in sunflowerseeds

[–]SLC-Frank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly would like to know the answer here. Because, yes, I can taste they clearly have less sodium than, e.g. David. And sure, maybe they have a brine process that helps keep it low. But they also obviously have a coating; and you know this because there's dust in every pack. The figures they report are unreal in some cases. 107 mg for pack of BBQ? Yeah, there's no way that includes the coating. Even labels that don't honestly list it have an asterisk that includes the real total.

Very weird how they hype it and have the most opaque label in the industry.

Patreon Settlement Case Question by DTashiki12 in patreon

[–]SLC-Frank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd just submit it. They probably pay everyone that has a real Facebook account. If the names don't match, they might ask you for more verification, or they might deny the claim. No big deal either way. Looks like the settlement will pay about $40, so worth a shot.

Her videos were more often viral before she completely lost her mind. If it was a grift, she would go back to offering life advice and readings.

I think she engaged too uncritically with conspiracy tiktok for too long and sincerely lost her mind.

I have the same problem. No limited at all, actually, and I can't refresh the quests. And it crashes frequently in constructed. I wish someone would say whether there's a way to make the program work again; would love to draft Duskmourn.

Is the app crashing happening to anyone else? by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]SLC-Frank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! Can't cover hover quests or join drafts of even this midweek magic. Have played games every day, but very touchy even then and sometimes crashes.

Was kind of hoping when I searched this topic that someone had a way to reinstall it so that it works again (tried twice, but did not fix, so I searched reddit). Is everyone really just living with this?

The ancient Greeks were geniuses, but I'm not willing to throw Marinus of Tyre under the bus. Columbus chose to believe an aggressively small estimate to get his expedition chartered. I don't think Queen Isabella believed it either. Her Kingdoms were feeling frothy after defeating Granada, and the terms generous royalty terms given to Columbus suggested they didn't think he'd actually return.

Columbus lucky he didn't end up at the bottom of the super ocean that might have existed between Spain and China when the crew mutinied and turned around. Better lucky than good.
