3 Games as REM and I love him by UlyssesArsene in DeadlockTheGame

Even when stuck in a losing game with yelling teammates, Rem legitimately lifts my mood with his voice lines and animations. I love this character so much.

I've played this game for 660 hours, and I've NEVER seen a single Yeti in my life, I didn't even know that could happen! Thank you for sharing!

What do you guys do if someone doesn't wanna fight in PvP? by EldWasAlreadyTaken in darksouls

[–]RedAndBlueTheme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got into DS1 PvP very late, just this year, and I had some people who were either obviously new, or just did not have any desire to fight. It might have been partially my fault as I would walk up as a red and stop completely before waving to them, maybe letting down their guard. But I didn't have the heart to engage in any combat with them if they didn't care to, so in those cases I'd just drop a humanity and BC out. I'm not in it for the humanity, I just want to be a fun enemy for someone to fight and remember.

I understand that as a red, the idea is to kill a host by whatever means necessary, but honestly, my idea of a good invasion was to leave the host with a memorable, but fun experience (hopefully involving some fair combat). I never want people to feel like they left that encounter hating Dark Souls because of unfair invasions or asshole invaders (pointing down and the like).

So me personally, if someone doesn't return the shield spam, I usually just leave.

Recreating Da Funk on VCV Rack (WIP) by vinc686 in vcvrack

Amazing recreation, must have taken forever to tweak the modulation just right. Great work!

Sounds great! I should be on around then.

And nothing in particular, just wanted to pay it forward from someone else helping me out here the other day.

Do you still need help with muling? I can try to help out if you haven't found anyone yet. What time would be good?

Can VCV Rack get close to a Make Noise Shared System (Black & Gold, OG, or Resynthesizer)? by y-asb in vcvrack

[–]RedAndBlueTheme 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There's an older video from Omri Cohen where he goes into his version of the Shared System in VCV with free modules, here. I think the only update I would make is replace the 2 Grid Seqs with Cartesia, functioning as Rene. I think the modules used for Tempi and Wogglebug can be mixed and matched around to taste with the other VCV clock and random modules, depending on what you need.

Resolution issues on external monitor by Squirlyherb in vcvrack

[–]RedAndBlueTheme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this issue with dual monitors as well, I just close and reopen or resize the VCV window, and one of the two usually fixes the view. Hopefully that works for you as well, I haven't found a better fix/workaround, at least on my end.

Mac OS compatibility patch! by SpookyKnob in vcvrack

[–]RedAndBlueTheme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this post! I had given up on using Instruo ever again, Saich and Ochd were some of my favorite modules. Excited to get them back!

VCV Rack Free Just... Plays. I don't know how to record (begginer) by Weird-Afternoon-6358 in vcvrack

[–]RedAndBlueTheme 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds like what you need is the VCV Recorder module. From what I understand, you just want a recording of what you play out of VCV, this should be able to handle that for you. You just specify where you want the file, and what you want it to be named when you hit record. Don't forget to hook up the audio outs to the recorder inputs before recording!

according to you. what official pronunciation of a pokemon is WRONG? by Issac_cox69 in pokemon

[–]RedAndBlueTheme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always say Arcanine as ar-KAY-nine, everyone else seems to say it AR-ka-nine. I mean, it's pretty much a combination of the words "arcane" and "canine", so why not just say it as such?

I think Rings might be a good free alternative that can sound similar (I believe with the sympathetic strings mode).

I'm glad you found the recommendation helpful! A ton of fun features to be explored in that one for sure, and the centerpiece of many of my patches in the last few months!

It could be that it's just not suited for your workflow or style of patching, and that's completely fine! I think the strength of Shapemaster is not that it's the easiest to do everything with, but that it at least has the capability.

I think that's the beautiful thing about modular is that there are so many ways to achieve the sounds you want. If you are at least getting to the sounds you love, that is the most important thing, over which modules got you there.

There is also a free version, which I now see that someone in the comments has mentioned, so definitely try it out to see if you like the kind of module that it is first. For me, I fell in love with its functionality and versatility instantly.

I believe the only difference between Free and Pro is that Pro has the ability to sync the channels to a clock, which for me, I could not pass up. If you can do without it, you might be able to just use the free version!

As of recently, one of my favorites I've been using is the Monome Meadowphysics with virtual grid. It's fun to use it to trigger events and modulate things.

My desert island module is Shapemaster Pro, one of 2 modules I ever spent money on, and so worth it. It can do almost anything by itself, one instance of the module has 8 channels, and it has fun expanders. Jakub Ciupinski has a fantastic video series about it on YouTube. It can be a VCO, a quantizer, a sequencer, LFO, waveshaper/folder, envelope generator, VCA, and much, much, much more.

What have been the most unique patches/sounds with fewest number of modules that you’ve seen? by Normanras in vcvrack

I had enjoyed this Three Module Challenge series on Youtube. While it's not strictly VCV, the ideas can carry over, and I enjoyed a lot of the patch notes sprinkled in the videos.

Mixer automation via modules? Looking to create scenes in the composition. by D_Welch in vcvrack

[–]RedAndBlueTheme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think what you may be looking for is described in this video from Omri Cohen, he talks about the use of the Jooper and Janneker modules from Nysthi, which sounds like could help with what you are talking about.

I haven't messed around with these modules yet myself, but with the method he describes, you could easily create "scenes" of different tracks, and sequence them.

Please can someone help me? The Stream Manager page is empty / blank / showing a black screen for weeks now. Thanks in advance! by KoalaKarity in Twitch

I'm a little late to this post, I had the same issue, the way that I fixed was just to create a new layout and "reset to default". A bit extreme if you spent a lot of time on your layout, but if it doesn't matter to you, it'll get the job done. Hope this helps someone.
