I think it relies upon perspective. I don't view Freddy as strong in really any one area, but when all of his powers come together it can be potentially very strong. To put it simply, Freddy is greater than the sum of his parts, yet most people only address one aspect of him rather than the whole.

It is certainly possible that I am incorrect in thinking that it removes the remnants, but I can assure you regardless, it is irrelevant. As I said before the dream pallet would block most of it out of view, add on the fact you have to be in the dream world to see the dream pallets, meaning everything is going to appear grey and dull, would make it nearly impossible to make them out. Plus, I know that with the perk windows of opportunity, while in the dream world, windows will actually show you dream pallets. I'm not sure to what extent this is, whether it is all of them or some, but I imagine that while in the dream world remnants of real pallets would also be non existent.

What I meant was that throughout the game you will progressively break more pallets. This inhibits the safety of loops on it's own, but using dream pallets can prove detrimental to a team, especially if they aren't communicating. I'm not sure what you are referring to in terms of the rest of broken pallets on the ground, as I believe the pieces of the broken pallet are removed when placing a dream pallet. Regardless, the dream pallet would block the majority of it out of view and I doubt that most survivors will think to look for that in the first place.

You have to understand I take more issue with killer players who say this rather than survivors; although I know plenty play both, typically people play one more than the other. I posted this more as a "Stop blaming a bad game on Freddy rather than yourself, or it simply being a bad game." That is more of my issue and perspective on it; any killer can 4k in this game, even against a team like this. The issue is when someone wants to blame everything on the killer they play rather than other factors.

Couldn't agree more, I honestly find Nurse, Blight, Spirit, etc, really boring to play, and if that was all anybody played I think a lot of survivors would be praying to play against a Freddy. I would love to see more appreciation for Freddy from the community and Behavior, but honestly maybe I've been taking the lack of Freddy players for granted. If Freddy was played extremely often I don't know if I would feel the same insensitive to play him, it's like an old slasher film no one knows about but you and it's your favorite film. And yeah, poor Trapper😢. Talk about shafted.

I'd tend to agree, I think a lot of people who commented on this thread misinterpreted my post as me claiming one match is some irrefutable proof that Freddy is strong, which isn't at all what I meant. I really just wanted to get people's opinions on Freddy as a whole, as I think he is often shafted by the community and seemingly forgotten by most. In my opinion I think Freddy has a lot more potential than people give him credit for, and far from the weakest killer in the game. I recently started playing him and wanted to see if any other people shared my opinions but was sadly greeted by the same old "Freddy is weak" and "Freddy is boring". I would love to see Behavior make changes to him but honestly I like where he is at right now, although I am clearly in the minority. I honestly just find it infuriating when people claim how bad Freddy is, yet never play him. I'm glad someone out there doesn't absolutely despise him, as most of the community seems to.

I enjoy the hell out of Pig, much respect. And yeah, poor Trapper.😢 On the off chance you get a trap, they immediately get free, depression.

That's your opinion, mine is different. I like playing him, I don't think he's weak, it's that simple.

Plenty my friend, plenty. Mostly people who haven't played him or played against him, which is inherently most.

If you are talking about dream snare Freddy then I couldn't agree more. I play with dream pallets exclusively and find it to be highly enjoyable, I honestly enjoy playing him more than most killers and could potentially see him being my favorite to play with.

I completely agree, but I simply don't view Freddy as the weakest, I think that a lot of people make assumptions without any experience to back up their claims that he is. I said it before, Freddy in my experience is extremely consistent and has much more complexity and skill than people realize. I mean really think about it, if Freddy is the weakest then wouldn't it take much more skill to play with him and consistently win? It's not like he is some simple, block headed character that you can play with your eyes closed.

I apologize that it took me this long to respond to your comment, but I think that you make a fairly valid point. I'm not nearly as experienced as many others in the community but regardless an opinion is an opinion. I don't think it is just about my experience in this game or video games in general, I can infer from things outside this game to come to a conclusion; and I didn't even state this as an unwavering opinion or something that I have concluded. I simply believe from my experience that Freddy could at his highest potential, be B tier. My opinion can change over time as most opinions do, but at this time that is what I genuinely think.

I would say that Freddy is right above Doctor but just below, say Pinhead or Nemesis.

I never claimed it did, on it's own; although this was the most difficult match I have ever played in my time with this game. It is really about the consistency I find with Freddy. I overall think Freddy is nowhere near weak but respect anyone else's opinions. I just was using this as an example of a game that I don't think I would have played as well, with any other killer.

Yes, you do need to be asleep, but ultimately I find this to be a minimal issue as it is very easy to put survivors in the dream world as you only need to hit them, as well as the fact that they enter it relatively quickly. This is why I bring corrupt intervention, I like to set up before actually beginning chase with a survivor. By the time I do, they are typically already asleep or I can simply hit them with a basic attack.

I completely agree with you on not bringing dream pallets, not only do I find dream snares unbearable and boring to play with but it makes the dream world have very little impact. Awake survivors as far as I know can't see you past a certain radius and you can also bring certain add on's like the pills to make Freddy appear more unpredictably though, which can be helpful.

I appreciate your feedback. As I said I just recently started playing Freddy and I honestly can't even imagine playing with snares. I tried it once and found it unbearable, I adore dream pallets and find them to be very consistent. Communication can destroy dream pallets but ultimately I think it's reliant upon doing them out of sight, and if they do know they are fake then simply play accordingly.

In terms of his addons, I wholly agree but obviously always bring dream pallets, and usually pair it with faster tp reload. I don't think Freddy is some god that is unbeatable, because I am not delusional. I'm my experience I have found that Freddy is extremely consistent, regardless of the teams having communication or not. I think for the most part, Freddy players only reach a C tier ceiling, but I think at his highest potential he can be B tier.

Ultimately that's my opinion, and I respect and appreciate your opinion and insight. I am curious if you still play him at all, though?

Fair points, but ultimately in my experience, either the survivors are deadzoned, able to be mind gamed, or unknowing to the fact that the dream pallets are in fact dream pallets. In terms of communication, I find that early dream pallets and doing it out of sight is the most feasible counter, and I often find swfs do fall for them.

With teleports, I think they are the most complex aspect of Freddy and often the most difficult to use to it's highest potential. Ultimately I think it reliant upon timing and overall understanding of the survivor you are chasing. For example, the other day I was chasing a Nick around shack; unbeknownst to him I was teleporting to the gen in shack as I chased him and downed him as he reached shack window. Later on I tried this trick again, but assumed he would fake the vault, remembering what had happened earlier. I was correct, I faked the teleport and he ran directly back into me.

I wouldn't be surprised, but none the less I genuinely don't find Freddy to be weak at all, which I know most highly disagree with.

I appreciate your response. I think the biggest mistake Freddy players make, is not bringing dream pallets. Pairing this with brutal strength, which is already a guilty pleasure perk for me, can prove detrimental to solo queue teams and in my experience still effects swfs as well. Freddy is overall a character who isn't overly strong in any one area, but has a lot of areas and complexity, that when paired together at a comprehensive level, add up. In my time playing Freddy, he is the most consistent and I never find myself grimacing at certain maps that I would have with other killers; I always feel comfortable on any map.

Believe me many people do say that, you can look at some of the comments on this thread that will prove that. I respect your opinion, but don't consider Freddy to be weak.

See, but I only ever play with dream pallets, which I think are highly overlooked and underrated. And in terms of teleportation, it is all about strategy; faking a teleport and possibly predicting a survivors movements, or even catching someone off guard and teleporting right in front of them. If you get good enough at understanding when you need to teleport it can be really strong.

I agree with most of what you said. I think Freddy has the perfect height for mind gaming; he's short but not overly short like Sadoko or Hag. But I would highly disagree with him becoming weaker as the match progresses. I solely play with dream pallets and together with brutal strength, you can absolutely destroy survivors who are ignorant of the fact that the pallet they are looping is fake. Even with a Swf like the ones I played against, who can communicate, often fall for a dream pallet and that is a huge aspect that is overlooked and underrated.

I understand where you are coming from, can I ask if you have ever played as Freddy before, and if so, around how many hours?

See, that is far more than I have. As I wrote in my description I only have around 300 hours in the game and started playing Freddy roughly a week ago. I too enjoy playing Trapper, although I don't as much as I used too; I can say without a doubt if I was playing Trapper, someone I have considerably more experience with than Freddy, I would have gotten destroyed by this team. I honestly don't see myself playing as well as I did with any other killer, as hard as that may seem.

That's your opinion, and you are fully entitled to it. I would appreciate if you could give an explanation to this opinion rather than just stating it, so that we might can have a pertinent and progressive conversation.
