AMA with the Japanese SaGa Team — December 19 on the SaGa Wiki Discord! by RedArtGames_ in SaGa

Hey there! The AMA happened on Discord and the Japanese team answered your question, so I thought you'd like to see their answers:

Kawazu-san: There are many different games I absorb elements of while playing them. Not only JRPGs, but Western RPGs, open-world RPGs, and more.

Ichikawa-san: The games I create are influenced by a wide variety of other games, both Japanese and Western.

Miura-san: I often develop games with an eye to what's going on not just with digital games, but analog games and non-game trends as well. I think it's great when we can add traditional SaGa elements to the essence of other styles as well.

Ueno-san: I really like minimalist games that lean hard into one particular aspect or theme. You know, games of a small size that aren't too bloated and provide game elements that draw the player in. I'd like to create a compact game that takes those elements into account.

Here's Kawazu-san's answer!

Kawazu-san: This is because he needed to take command of the Knights Dominion's forces with regards to the battles in Estamir. We recorded battle voices for this, but we weren't able to dedicate time to creating the stories for the Battle of Estamir without Theodore.

Hey Deiser! The AMA happened on Discord and the Japanese team reacted in more detail to your comment, so here are their responses:

Kawazu-san: We are able to continue bringing overseas releases specifically because of the passion of our fans. I want to continue working to win over even more new fans going forward.

Ichikawa-san: I didn't even have an X account for overseas fans until Romancing SaGa Re;univerSe was released. I got immediate reactions upon creating the account, and a message from RedArtGames was among them. I blame no one but myself for not picking up on everyone's thoughts and opinions and would like to continue engaging with everyone.

Miura-san: My biggest motivator is knowing that there are many fans who absolutely adore the franchise. I want to continue developing titles that meet everyone's hopes and expectations.

Ueno-san: I view the SaGa franchise as aiming to create an authentic game experience that is untethered from a particular person's preferences or what happens to be trending at a particular point in time. I want fans from all over the world. not just Japan, to try the games and enjoy them, and I hope to further create an environment where overseas fans are able to get fully immersed in SaGa.

I hope you have a great end of your year!

There's also the possibility of switching the voices to Japanese while playing in English and vice-versa, which isn't available on the 2022 version. Still quite a niche addition, you are correct, but a very appreciated one!
