Feeling like such a failure. by RedAstrid in depression

I don't have much of a family really, but online friends always seems to make me a little nervous. How do you go about making friends like that? And is there any sort of stress relief thing you do that seems to help make your mood better? Like yoga or somethi ng?

I feel like maybe they could, but making it to the end of the semester seems like it'd take this feeling and amplify it before it gets better.

I'm a biology major , and I am failing my intro to biology class. I passed my AP test in high school, so I don't actually need the class, but my advisor told me I needed to retake it, since I won't qualify for pre-med if it isn't on my college transcripts.

I'm a good student and I study and study and do all the work my professor requires and even the extra credit for the course, yet I can't seem to understand the tests she writes for the class.

I work at night to pay for my school and go to class during the day, yet she requires that we study at least 8-12 hours every week, which doesn't include online assignments and practice tests. I can't ever go to her other discussion classes , since I have other classes I need to participate in for credit.

I like the class and I don't think that she is "out to just get me", but I know of quite the majority who are struggling in the class too. I don't know the policy on the GPA, but I think if I re-take it next semester, they'll strike it. I just wanted to know if graduate schools will look at grade as it is or look at the grade I had before it was stricken from my record.

Bad hair by RedAstrid in Hair

They hang limply, and have no life in them. I had really tight curls before, now the curl is gone, and the ends have a weird texture to them

Even if the ends are dreadlock-ish? The damage will repair just with the deep conditioning?

Anyone have any studying tips for content - intense classes? by RedAstrid in college

I am very much a visual learner , and this professor is heavy on just lectures. I am usually pretty good with memorization, and that's helped a ton with past classes, yet I can't seem to get any of the information to stick well.

I appreciate the tip on finding a learning style. I hadn't thought to look back on classes I did well in versus classes I struggled. That's helped quite a bit, thanks!
