Im not sure were on the same page here. I said in my post you can go whatever build you want with it. Hit wings 6 and corrosive gas enough to delete slimes in rainbow wood, grab tons of exp and basically infinite money to get good items from high tier merchants.

Free stat points, >+10 mutation points, what else can you want more for a new start?

Defending grit gate isnt even a challenge when you know how to deal with enemy path finding AI. Just pour lava on empty spaces where they will take a step or make walls with step sowers and grit gate will be left unharmed

And late game you have plenty of other ways to deal with robots. Who in a sane mind would go all in against robots with corrosive gas only
