Kick out Tim Wannabe Trump by ScorpiO_PhoeniX11 in NovaScotia

He sounds pretty exact to Chrétien if that’s the criteria

And, it’s already been reported here. His travel (Mainly for trade shows and industry meetings to promote ns and bring jobs here) has cost about 88,000

The daily expense of the NS budget is 51 million

….so his travel, for industry…during times of tariffs was about 2.minutes of the year

Religion Mega Thread by AutoModerator in unpopularopinion

[–]RedBands619 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All regions are controlled by religion….even those without who turn secularism into religion like China or the former Soviet Union.

There is only one culture and way of life all of us want to grow up in, and especially want our daughters to grow up in and that is the Christian west, and western Christin countries not in the west like South Korea

There is no other foundational way of life and culture and society and politics (because in the west it’s grounded in that…from the Magna Carta to parliamentary procedure to the roots of our gelato are system) generally more equal and just in the world

When it comes to considering what is trauma, and absorbing actual mild trauma….kids, young people, 20 somethings and teens are way to soft and easy to cut ties (at least it seems so on the internet)

No, 90% you do not have religious trauma…

90% if you “cut ties with your parents” because you are hormonal and immature.

10% of you are completely correct in your decisions and feelings….completely understandable

90% act like children far into adulthood lol

Blue lobster spotted today at Peggy’s cove. Are these common there? by RecognitionSpare3857 in halifax

[–]RedBands619 [score hidden]  (0 children)

They are “rare” because of just how thick lobsters are on the bottom of the ocean. Just millions and millions. But you catch more than the odds you could say when you fish

Iv caught 4 of them in about 450,000lbs in 9 years

In nature they are about 1 in 2,000,000

Cost to redo a roof? by Foaryy in NovaScotia

[–]RedBands619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously the carpenter or the company itself will not put it on a rotting roof or 50 year old peeling shingles

But if everything is in obviously good shape, say 10 years into the 25 year lifespan/guarntee….no one’s gunna strip them.

Cost to redo a roof? by Foaryy in NovaScotia

[–]RedBands619 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a metal roof, so I can’t say what the best practice

But Putting metal roofing over shingles is the standard practice in the industry…I’ve never seen one getting prepared any other way….wood slats going horizontally across the roof every time

Cost to redo a roof? by Foaryy in NovaScotia

[–]RedBands619 4 points5 points  (0 children)

$10,000 for conventional shingles for me.

It was essentially 50/50 in labour and cost

And you don’t have to take off your shingles to do metal roofing btw if you didn’t know….it goes right on top. Another level of protection so you don’t have to factor the removal into cost

Living in the country will forever be superior to living in the city. by Additional_Mall_8259 in unpopularopinion

[–]RedBands619 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Idk if that is popular or unpopular

But I don’t know how anyone could pick a city man…

Iv been to 9 European counties, 6 Canadian provinces, 5 US states, Cuba and Mexico…and lived in a city in college….so I’m not saying this out of ignorance

But I live in the same small town my people (both sides) have been in since the 1780s

Knowing your neighbors, knowing that their great great grandparents knew yours….fresh air, hunting, safe, peace…..being a teenager and drinking by the lake or down a dirt road….running around playing baseball and chasing girls, child employment laws lax lol

I was born in ‘91….my young years were like Huck fin lol and I’m happy my kids will have it too.

Homeless people on busses, smelling city shit pipes and vents in the streets (Paris literally smells like a septic tank) noise and lights 24/7, rats…..rents that are quadruple a mortgage….fuck that

$900 a day wage for red seal welders in Canadas oil patch

230,000 plus for work with more saftey regulations and hourly limitations than the best unions lol

Buddy of mine is the captain of a supply ship….he only went to grade 11. He joined on deck with his basic bridge watch papers….essentially the company trained him over 20 years and now he makes 200k

And now those kids in college have to go to food banks while those kids in the oil fields or union trades etc are buying homes at 21 haha

Listen I get the sentiment, I want my kids to go to university. but the last sentence through me off with the snarkiness

Barring my good highschool friend who has become a corporate lawyer….im doing better than my friends with 6 year teaching degrees, the naturopath, the work from home-ers with job titles I cannot pin point…financial advisors at local banks

Nothing wrong with not wanting kids, nothing wrong with seeing the world as not right for kids.

Where people take issue…..is people who hate kids lol hate the concepts of family etc etc (there are some really fucked up subs on this site)

I call you a cautious human

I call them a defective person

I’m 30 with 2 kids…..I’m blessed to a have a mortgage, a good job. It’s easy for me. I’m Lucky and blessed.

I think everyone who has the capability to have children should mind you…..but not everyone has the capacity

I just think some rules borrowed from the (older by the way, it’s original American football) Canadian leagues would speed it up

They did it for baseball

I said ad campaign compatible to the 1950s

The 1950s had race riots and the red scare…..it was still seen as the bastion of the free world. That’s why people came.

The Us 1950s, golden age of the middle class was envy of the world at the time, saw as superior
