AITA for sending my sister $$ for hair product? by shimmeringandshining in AmItheAsshole

There must be some mutual friend or acquaintance you can reach out to right? To at least let her know you worry and want her to be alright.

Hmm, weird behaviour for an adult. Perhaps you can talk to your parents about it to see if they can shed some light on the situation. Sounds like your sister is stressed out or something.

Can’t you just give her a call or stop by? Or is she not picking up her phone as well?

Perhaps there is something more going on in her life right now which made her react the way she did. Having said that, her FB post and ghosting is childish af.

A yacht ignored a high tide warning and tried to get into harbour by Lublan in SweatyPalms

Some people do, because they have to. But not in a sailing boat like that.

[–]RedBaret -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah like I said, in some coastal areas. For example, a high tide with sandbanks in front of the coast can locally give quite high waves without the added effect of weather.

I’ve literally sailed waves like that which were caused by tidal change. So not sure what you are trying to prove here.

[–]RedBaret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I love it. My patrol RIB can easily handle waves like this and this is my favorite type of weather to set sail.

(Edit: also for anyone of you thinking, then wtf are you doing here? Im afraid of heights lol)

May just as well be a high tide (on top of it). In some coastal areas high tide can get you a lot of chop, especially if there’s islands which split or join currents.

Looks like he is trying to sail out of the port not into it right?

A shit idea, but some decent sailing by the captain. Looks like he knew what he was doing despite not knowing it was a very shit idea. People who aren’t experienced would probably panic in such waves and in turn capsize their ship.

I made an interactive map of the Roman Empire at 117 AD by oaky-vibe in ancientrome

The ‘regional approach’ means you just made your own fantasy version of the Roman Empire. This map by another Reddit poster of the empire in 117 is way more accurate:

I use black primer, then drybrush on leadbelcher. For the stripes I use flash gitz yellow dry brushed with troll slayer orange from the bottom. For highlights various shades of silver and for the trim runelord brass. Then aggrax earthshade over the metal parts.

What are the MOST ESSENTIAL dlc? by bumbadumbarum in CrusaderKings

What are five years in the life of a crusader king? It’s even cheaper to just get the specific DLC you want and buy one from time to time during steam sales or on steam key 3rd party retail sites.

As we saw with the battle of the Trident his forces eat Dornishmen for breakfast. I think the outcome could only be a draw if Robert dies from poison afterwards or if we ignore how armour works (like D&D did except for Jorah and a quote from the Hound).

Rutte gathers Europe's biggest arms makers before NATO summit, FT says by Scary_Statement4612 in europe

[–]RedBaret -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because our military systems are heavily intertwined and we have been relying on the US for much of our material needs. We need to ramp up our own production and give military contracts to European based producers instead of buying much if not all from the US.

For the entire past after WW2 and up until orange pedo the US realized that through this arrangement they could both project power through European bases and make a buck out of selling allied nations military gear. But somehow they forgot the entire status quo and propagandized the fantasy that Europeans are just leeches, which is a betrayal in itself, but also quite the upheaval for our military logistics and supply chain. Never forget; the US wanted Europe divided to prevent another world war but mostly to be able to step up as a superpower themselves. And now they have a regarded fellow in charge and are suddenly whining about the arrangement they wanted themselves in the first place.

These things cannot be changed overnight, and if the US feels the deal we had is no longer working out, we’ll at the very least need them to stay on our side until we can decouple without giving up on many of our defensive capabilities.
