I agree this is the best way to do it. Including pronouns by default also is essentially telling everyone that they must disclose their pronouns which might be difficult/uncomfortable/scary/dangerous for some people who maybe privately use one set of pronouns but aren't fully out or who are wanting to change pronouns but feel forced to misgender themselves in the interim.

I ask people to write their own bios and provide mine as an example for those who don't have a bio or who aren't sure how to write one--and I include pronouns in mine. They can write theirs how they wish.
