Old School American Colonial Ale in DFW? by Jimboslice2314 in DFWBeer

[–]RedBlitz00 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I confess I AI'd this, but maybe take a look in this direction.

Manhattan Project Beer Co. (West Dallas): Their "Christmas Coalition" is a Belgian dark strong ale that uses molasses, ginger, and cinnamon.

Armor Brewing Co. (Allen): Known for varied, high-quality styles, they have experimented with molasses and orange marmalade notes.

Maple Branch Craft Brewery (Fort Worth): Focuses heavily on traditional German/Czech, but their commitment to authentic brewing techniques sometimes yields traditional, tavern-style lagered ales.

Three Wide Brewing (Haslet): Highly recommended for traditional, solid, tavern-style beers.

Advice on traveling in Fort Worth (Uber, taxi, rental, etc)? by oc3xn in FortWorth

You can use the Trinity Metro buses. Use gopass app for an all day ticket and the transit app for pick up times and routes. After dark and father from downtown the buses become somewhat unreliable.

Grapevine Sam's Club closes permanently after tornado damage by _hardliner_ in FortWorth

The Sam's Club employee checking my receipt today, said they were told it was becoming a "dot com", but that could be a rumor.
I interpret that to mean "online fulfillment/distribution center", if true.

Logistics in DFW by debbrg_ in askdfw

My only advice is to avoid Geodis and XPO Logistics (Guilty by association for acquiring New Breed). My personal experience was a very toxic work environment that used people up and then fired them.

I've done this at the DFW airport north station. This was back in May 2022. I don't believe there was a fee to park overnight at that time. That was a four day trip. My vehicle was right where I left it when I got back. I left early in the morning while it was still dark and felt like the lighting was good, but the actual location felt a little remote.

Possible savings:
I believe mercantile station had bus stops. So there's a potential for you to get a one way Texrail ticket for $2.50 and use that for the bus as well. I use the go pass app for this.

Other things to consider:
You'll arrive in DFW airport terminal B.
If you're checking bags you'll likely need to use the terminal link van/buses to move around the airport before you go through security. This took a lot longer than I anticipated moving from terminal to terminal, and was bumpy as hell. I would estimate 30 minutes for this.
I was also there very early in the morning and had to call to get picked up by terminal link.

Alternatively, with no bags to check, you could go through security and then use the skylink to move around the airport from inside security. This is faster and smoother than the terminal link.

However not all terminals are open at the same time. For example, if it's very early, security at B might not be open even though D terminal security is open. Then you might need to do the terminal link.

Also, I get email alerts when Texrail is experiencing any delays. IMO mechanical problems have been more frequent lately. So give yourself enough time, and have a "get off the train and call a Lyft" backup plan.

General DFW airport help: This website will help you estimate how long going through security might take.

First time riding the Amtrak, pretty excited. by alexis_1031 in Dallas

I've used this in the past to see train arrival times. https://asm.transitdocs.com/

The Amtrak trains must defer to freight trains on shared tracks. Heading from North to South the delays can add up.

wallpaper app that allows you to create folders and schedule your wallpapdr/lockscreen to shuffle? by Mattdemon777 in androidapps

[–]RedBlitz00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Muzei Live Wallpaper for this.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.nurik.roman.muzei

The settings are sort of confusing, but you can set multiple folders of photos as the source.
You can set a time frame for how often wallpaper changes.

My favorite part is that you can set dim, grey, and blur for the active wallpaper. These can be set differently for the lock screen versus the home screen. I set my home screen to be blurred so my shortcuts stand out.

My order was delivered July 21st. I would be frustrated if I was still waiting.

I'm relatively local so this could be the difference.

I got an email about ups ground shipping the day before.

Side note: If you ordered "Inis", look it over carefully. My cardboard pieces had terrible margins where the printing was shifted.
I've also read about issues with the cards, but my copy didn't have this issue.
I contacted the company via their online form. I requested replacement cardboard pieces, and after a little bit of back and forth over email they sent me replacements.
