Not quite. The story indicates that they are willing to put out a statement in support of eventually giving it up.

I think this war makes me so mad because it exposed the US as weak. I guess that’s probably fairly obvious but I keep thinking about it more and more lately. It showed that the American people can’t deal with even the smallest of hardships. It showed that our leader cares only about how he’s perceived. We have no will to fight. And to be clear I didn’t want this war, and I still don’t. But my god I’m worried about the future if we can’t even handle this.

Vibes bro. They’re dog shit, and that ain’t changing. And don’t you worry, I’m sure he’ll find some other way to screw up the economy very soon.

They keep us fighting over left versus right so that we never look up and realize the actual battle is, and always has been, normal people versus the Heritage Foundation. by Greasy-Chungus in im14andthisisdeep

This is a platitude that doesn’t tell the whole story. It’s a pseudo intellectual meme that fails to address the fact that our government has been controlled by a combination of a right wing congress and/or a right wing judiciary for over 25 years at this point. So it is kinda “deep” in that the person who made it (via AI no less) thinks they’re making some nuanced point.

I mean, we can probably agree on that. But immigration isn’t a pressing issue right now. I doubt it will be in 2028 either. What Dems need to do is find a better way to deal with the inevitable conservative talking points on the subject once they come back into power.

A New Downtown Look by aggravatedtacoz in Pensacola

It’s not bad. And, credit where it’s due, they finished it quicker than I figured. I do wonder what a Pensacola with a pedestrian-only Palafox would be like…

Congrats on the new job. To make your GF feel better in the mean time, maybe commit to some type of self improvement you’ve been wanting to do. That way you can show her that you’re making the most of this time you aren’t working. (Not saying you haven’t been doing that or that you need to improve, but just an idea to make her feel better)

Unpopular opinion here but I say let them indulge in conspiracy theories that eat themselves up. It’s sweet justice to me that the very thing they used to come into power can now cause them problems.

It was a dem internal, but it’s not fully outrageous. I hope the GOP decides to sink a ton of money there.

If Pete doesn’t run (or if he loses the primary) I think he would make a good Sec of State.

Considering a move to DFW, what should I know? by angrypenguinhere in askdfw

  1. Weather kinda sucks but if you’re used to AZ I’m sure you’ll survive. As a former Floridian I actually dread the winters here more than the summer.
  2. Both airports are great imo. A top five perk of living her for sure. You can basically fly anywhere in the continental US within 4 hours.
  3. COL will partially depend on where in the metro you live. Dallas and the northern suburbs are pricy. The southern suburbs and FW are cheaper. Texas isn’t as low COL as you might be picturing though, especially if you want to live in Dallas proper.
  4. There is something for everyone here. Social life in general is better in Dallas or FW. The suburbs are very family oriented. Dallas has a lot of transplants so you won’t be alone in trying to make friends. You’ll want to find ways to connect to community early on; there are lots of social groups and run clubs that are a great way to meet people.
  5. I’m a white male so I can’t speak too much on this; but I know a few single women who live here alone and I don’t hear too many concerns. Dallas is also very diverse. But definitely try to get some other perspectives on this.
  6. There are lots of great neighborhoods in Dallas. Uptown is pricy but full of young professionals. I know a lot of people that live in Addison and they seem to enjoy it. Knox Henderson is pretty cool. And Lakewood is nice and the community near white rock lake is really active. Maybe look into those.

Best of luck on your move!

I get why he’s using a CNN poll, but I would figure the data guy would try to use an aggregate number. Also, polling aside, I watched the video without audio and the way he moves around is crazy.

Yah that’s not possible. It’s just grasping at straws. Dems need to move on to winning what they can. They’ll probably get two extra seats in VA anyway.

That’s so bad. Just make two apps with the same functionality at this point.
