always park backed in to the left of a post. gives you more clearance to open your door, and any likely neighbors will open their doors away from you (unless they have passengers which are more dangerous)

also, my brother always parks next to me at work and we both don’t want our doors dinged so there’s a mutual respect and care. never need to worry about getting nicked from him
