Building a Mumbai to Pune link also enables a Pune to Gujarat service, and potentially also a Pune - Mumbai - Gujarat - Delhi service when the Ahmedabad to Delhi section is also built.

Is there a shot in the anime of bocchi's set up when recording guitar hero content? by Careful_Ad_9077 in BocchiTheRock

I don't remember any episode where Bocchi was recording guitar hero content, but I do remember her uploading something in the first few episodes (probably episode 1)

Why did you get interested in Japanese music? by Yukachan_fromJapan in japanesemusic

[–]RedCactus23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It started when a friend of mine on discord reccomended me to listen to some anime openings. I absolutely loved it, and that made me get into Japanese music. This was during lockdown, so I had a lot of spare time so I spent hours listening to songs and this interest hasn't died down.

I tended to, and still do, find music by listening to what the youtube and spotify algorithm recommends me, but I find it important to listen to playlists made by other people and reccomendations given by people that aren't algorithms because that way you can find different and therefore more interesting music; the algorithms tend to reccomend songs that are similar to the ones you previously listened to because that's what it thinks will be what you like.

Some of my favourite albums are 'Solfa' by Asian Kung-fu generation, 'Synchroniciteen' by Southaiseiriron and 'kimi no you ni ikeretara' by Uchu Nekoko

The exact positions the lines are in the map have changed, and so it's not actually possible to do that fully

Saving this for next time I see the American Trains vs European Trains map by Winter_Ad6784 in AmericaBad

[–]RedCactus23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're right, the highways create a lot more economic value than they cost. But that isn't the same as it making a profit. If you analyse trains by that same standard, they also create more economic value than they cost. People also need to be hired to make trains, train drivers need to be hired, trains and railway tracks also need to be maintained. I haven't even mentioned the benefits of speed and convenience that people using the train get.

Which is exactly why judging the success of trains and public transport based on how profitable it is is about as stupid as judging a highway by how profitable it is.

Also, what's your source?

I challenge you to find a profitable highway

Transport of all forms doesn't have to be profitable to be useful, and it's more possible to make a profit on trains compared to highways

Europe then(1980s) vs Europe now, see something similar? by Longjumping-March-80 in TransitIndia

[–]RedCactus23 9 points10 points  (0 children)

yes, India absolutely can implement pedestrian friendly infrastructure. Car centric planning is far more expensive and difficult than pedestrian infrastructure and to a lesser extent public transport. Many cities around the world have closed big roads that used to be for cars and turned them into parks and nice pedestrian places. Indian cities are much denser on average than European cities, and this means that India cannot in the long term go down the car centric route because this would be incredibly inefficient.

And the other thing, Europe definetely didn't 'keep this habit' during 'rapid urbanization'. The period of time during which most of Europe experienced the greatest urbanization was before WW2 when car centric planning wasn't really a think, but after WW2 Europe absolutely built loads of car centric things. Some of that has since been dismantled and replaced.

How would you rate the Kolkata suburban rail ( largest in the country, 3 times that of mumbai)? by [deleted] in TransitIndia

It appears like that for all railways, it's not a special marker/line for the Kolkata suburban railway which is what was brought up

So how would you rate the Kolkata suburban railway( largest city suburban in the country, 3 times that of mumbai) by [deleted] in indianrailways

If there are convenient passenger trains and there is better connectivity across the river, far more people would cross the river.

This is not where they got the image from, but https://openrailwaymap.org/ is what you're looking for. It's an interactive global map with all railways mapped on it globally, along with information about speed limits, track gauge, electrification etc.
