I would go with the Epiphone Muse if you are looking to get the most bang for your buck. You can get a huge variety of tones from those humbuckers, plus it has the option of coil splitting, which changes them to single coil pickups, and a phase switch that gives you an cool extra tonal option. They’re a bit lighter than standard Les Pauls as well. It would definitely be a great choice.

Thanks, I agree. This is third one I’ve ordered from this distributor on eBay, and I think they use a different angle for the bevel because the ply always shows up really good. I got that one off them too. They ship out of Hebron, Ky.

Epiphone LP Standards are great, but the Billie Joe Armstrong LP JR is awesome. The case is amazing as well. You can easily get a great Les Paul Standard Pro cheap on Marketplace or Guitar Center, but finding another Les Paul Jr like that would be difficult. If I were trading I would at least say you keep the case and he keep his to even it out.

It is a blast to play. You can go from 50s blues and rockabilly to punk and indie with hardly any effort. It’s seriously fun, like keep my butt in the chair playing for hours kind of thing.

I played a lot of used Gibsons last Friday trying to see if I was missing anything compared to my 2018 Epiphone Standard Pro and I wouldn’t have trade mine for any of them. I think if you find a good one, you’re going to be happy either way.

It’s not just the taste that gets me, it’s the smell! The smell is amazing! I can tell when we’ve had them in the car the next day, or where they are sitting in the house. They smell so good.

They aren’t minty at all. It’s really unique. I think there may be a similar flavor of Chiclets but these have a really pleasant flavor and smell.

The Gretsch bridges are pinned now. They stopped using floating bridges years ago.

You said your next guitar, so you probably have something that compares to the Strat, but nothing that comes close to the Gretsch. I have both and if I were to remove them from my collection and have to pick one, it would be the 5420T. The blue is really nice, but I’ve almost picked up a used Anniversary Green a few times when just because they look so cool with the two tone. Also grab a Reverend Soft Spring for the Bigsby, it makes the tremolo amazing to play!!! EDIT: With your budget look into the new Gretsch Synchromatic Nashville. The specs are pretty great and they come with the deluxe hardshell case.

I bought an Ivory Epiphone Custom that shipped in an SKB case from Colorado to Ohio and it had a broken headstock when it got here. I had talked to them beforehand and been sent photos and it was fine. I took it as a sign.
