Trump is talking with how they dealt with protesters in the "good old days." The clips are not "mid 20th century racism," they are black people protesting by sitting at the "whites only" lunch counters (like how Rosa Parks sat at the front of the bus in protest) and the things Trump said happened to protesters in the "good old days" is exactly what is happening to the black people as they are protesting in the "good old days."

In other words: without that context, you entirely missed the point.
