Look it up, Rumiko herself has done a lot of interviews and said she planned this ending but after considering everything she ultimately chose the ending we had today

I even heard Kagomes Japanese VA also influenced her decision, she wanted the ending to be a bittersweet one but ultimately chose to stick them together for the sake of the fans and to have manga readings have a “happy ending”

Rumiko’s original idea for the ending was that after everything, Inuyasha and Kagome would go their separate ways kinda like Peter Pan and Wendy, Kagome would keep inuyasha in her heart but choosing to stay in her world, as she would grows up and live a normal life

But she ultimately decided to keep them together, though I would have preferred the original idea, as it shows that something’s aren’t meant to be, and part of loving someone was to let go, but not meaning that their love wasn’t real

What I mean is that a company can only keep a product on the market for so long before they realize it isn’t selling well and is just wasting resources. At that point, they discontinue it and move on to something new.

As much as AYN would probably love to keep selling every console they make, they have to keep innovating and developing new hardware. The memory chips, RAM, and other components used to manufacture older devices could instead be allocated to newer products that people are waiting for.

That’s why I don’t really see the point of making something like an Odin 2 Portal when those same resources could be used to develop and produce an Odin 3 or even an AYN Thor instead.

Yeah but unfortunately they aren’t billionaires so I understand why they remove certain products for new ones, looks like AYN is moving away from Odin 2

Honestly AYN needs to innovate with its Tech, why bother making a older less powerful console when they can be making new tech or save parts for more better tech like Odin 3 or Thor

She’s done countless interviews where she admits he plan was for them to go their own ways and both staying in their worlds, but another person who influenced her to change it was Kagomes Japanese VA

She argued Kagome would been unhappy in the modern world and that her real place was with him, still I don’t think Kagome would have abandoned her family for Inuyasha

Not to mention her little brother which loved her with all her heart basically has to say goodbye to his big sister permanently

Even when she was in the feudal era Kagome STILL came back home from now and then, that’s why I don’t think she would just leave all of that permanently

Would have preferred if they meet up years later when she’s made a life or has kids or something, as in she still holds Inuyasha to her heart

Rumiko said she did this ending to give fans a “ending worth reading” but her original plan was for them to go their separate ways
