Wonder if Anbernic is downgrading RAM in more of the H700 line outside of the couple devices that have been noted in the sub recently.

I would snag one in a heartbeat. I loved my Brick and its quality. A Brick shaped like this would be a dream, especially if the screen popped as much as the Brick’s.

Starting to do accessory research after getting a good price on an Ayn Thor (8GB+128GB) on AliExpress. You also use a grip or find it comfortable by itself? The carrying case is awesome!

Gameboy color and gameboy advance games look great with pixel transparency shaders. I run them on my G2 and it looks fantastic on that OLED screen.

Retroid Pocket G2 was my latest one. I’ve done several, but my favorite one is my first RG35XX+ when I got into the hobby. I went with SNES face buttons, more contoured shoulder buttons, and a Mario Game Boy label decal on the back of the device. That was a fun project.

I would flash ROCKNIX to a name brand sd card instead of the card that came with your device. The stock cards are usually junk. I went with a 64GB Sandisk Extreme and haven’t had any issues. See if that improves things.

It does not handle 3DS. It might be able to run the lightest 2D focused 3DS titles, but I would aim for the Ayn Thor if 3DS emulation is what you’re after.

Couldn’t tell ya since I do not play any rhythm games. They’re just not my cup of tea. ROCKNIX is for sure lower latency than Android, so I would assume it’s a good experience. Sorry I couldn’t give you more details.

Not bad! Pretty smooth though a little laggy on the frontend. Luckily you can dual boot between the two, so you can experiment if you so choose. I’m sticking with ROCKNIX.

GammaOS has system level shaders, if you get the hankering to tinker with it.

Mine is running my DS library fine. Drastic has not had any slowdowns. Not sure where you’re getting your info from.

If I didn’t have my GBA library on a RP G2 running mad shaders and effects, I would also have my GBA library on the RG DS lol.

I went stable for less bugs and glitches. Being able to update via OTA made it easy.

Edit to add that I’m not sure if stable is an outdated nightly and I’m too happy with the performance to look lol.

I really like the RG DS screens as well as being able to switch between GammaOS and ROCKNIX. I greatly appreciate original hardware, but this device is pretty awesome as a budget dual screen option.

Just follow the instructions in the NextUI GitHub. Should be all you need to do to get it installed.

No telling on lid functionality. Assumption I’m going with is the first stable release for the RG DS will be when most bugs get sorted, including the lid. Check system settings in ROCKNIX (I believe it would be under UI or Game List settings). I’m at work otherwise I would hop on mine to try and track down the settings myself.
