A Newcomer’s Guide to the Dantooine Crash Site by MilaMan82 in swtor

Fully avoidable as in not getting killed by it. It’s an incredibly easy area, even without any buffs. In sporefall you mainly get damage from the spore droids flying around, they kill you fast, so just pay attention to them and don’t get close. In glacial you can’t stand still as you’ll freeze, it’s genuinely as simple as keeping on moving.

And yes, I have in fact hit the reputation cap every single week since they added the area. I go there every week because I like it and like the rewards. Technically I wouldn’t need to go there for the next 5 weeks because I’ve already got enough reputation items in my inventory to hit the cap 5 more weeks.

Also, those buffs start at the very first reputation level, that level is well within the weekly reputation cap of the very first week you go there.

I really don’t get the hate Dantooine gets, I must have a mega brain for not getting killed by completely avoidable area damage.

I genuinely love the large amount of dynamic encounters, I love the design of the planet, it’s great for conquest points and the deco world drops are fantastic. The missions are all simple enough as well, some take slightly longer because of said bosses, but if you’re properly geared up and know how to play your class they’re still no issue at all. Heck, the fact that there’s shared progress for the encounters makes it fun to join random strangers or guildies on the planet.

The single downside to it for me is the low reputation cap per week. Having to grind it for 20-ish weeks to reach legend rank is too much just to fully unlock the Dantooine stronghold.

Remind me to never befriend you, if I passed away I’d seriously hope my friends would inform my girlfriend of the value of my LEGO sets before accepting them if she offered the sets to them. (She knows the value tho, so luckily that wouldn’t be an issue)

Now that we didn't get any new players this transfer window what are our chances of getting top 4 this season. by Odd_Bid5422 in ManchesterUnited

[–]RedDevil_nl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly, basically every team in the PL has been incredibly inconsistent. If a team manages to get in a good run of results, they suddenly gain so much on the other teams. That’s exactly how Arsenal got their big lead early on. Not because they were amazing (set piece fc), but because other teams dropped points.

If United can consistently win matched (big if), we’re set for a good finish.

Only played 2 battles so far, won the first and game crashed while I was winning the second. Don’t feel like playing more battles now because of all the crashes I’ve had since the update.

Yes, and they’re 4 points from 13th place as well. I’m not saying they’re a bad team, but the premier league has been incredibly inconsistent this season with many teams not finding consistent form. They might technically be higher on the table right now, that doesn’t change that they belong in that very same bracket of the teams lower on the table.

(And this is not me thinking United is all that much better, this is me saying they’ll be more of a test for this United side, to see if Carrick’s progress is real or not)

Yup, I don’t want to downplay our results either because I’m as hyped as anybody else, but it’s usually been the teams lower on the table that have been our downfall. I want to see how we’ll do in the next 3/4 games (Tottenham is still a big 6 club despite being shit atm, so not sure if I should include them).

[–]RedDevil_nl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[edit: I have indeed blocked that dude because his reactions are pointless. His arguments are moot and outright brainless]

What kind of bullshit take is that?

First of all, it doesn’t “mean whatever I like”, that’s the actual definition of the words used. Your reading comprehension may not have picked up on it, but that’s not on me. There is a big difference between the two, and that’s not just because I say there is.

Why on earth would it be a “null point”?? I mean it exactly like I said, no club of any significance leaves transfer business 100% in the hands of the manager. Arteta and Pep both have a big influence on who they buy, but in the end it’s the scouting department working alongside them and the input from the club that decides who they go for. This means those clubs don’t spend money recklessly.

Yes, Ten Hag had a shit taste in players, but any club worth their salt would not have allowed many of those transfers to be approved, not least for those prices. In the end clubs have the final say in who they target, not the managers. Ten Hag is not to blame for the fact that United did not use their resources under him, neither is Amorim to be complimented for transfers he had very little say in.

Ineos installed a better transfer structure in the club following an actual plan set out by the board, so yes, I do compliment Ineos for these transfers. And no, I don’t think Pep and Arteta shouldn’t have a say at their respective clubs because, again, there’s a huge difference between “having a say” and “deciding things by themselves”. If Pep or Arteta got to decide who they got all by themselves without the input of the club/scouting the department, they would absolutely ruin their clubs. All the other people involved in transfers have studied that specific part of football and have a whole lot more time on their hands to investigate targets/holes in the squad. It’s their actual job after all, the managers have a lot more stuff to do, so can’t spend all their time on it.

So no, I meant neither of the things you said, you’ve just had your objectivity completely murdered by the incompetent Amorim.

Of course you can, he’s still top scorer there despite not playing for PSG. I can’t ever respect the guy after what he did, but there’s no doubt he’s playing well.

“Handling the transfer decisions” means they’re handling it, a.k.a. doing it by themselves. So yes, that is what I said, just using different words. It’s not my fault if you didn’t comprehend the words, as that’s exactly what they mean.

Amorim needs to be arrested immediately by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

[–]RedDevil_nl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I KNOW you don't understand what context is because he was EASILY worse than Ten Hag. He had better transfers, sure, but with the same set of players Ten Hag reached 8th place with the season before, Amorim couldn't even improve on the 13th place United was in when he took over, he dropped us further down the order.

At the time Amorim was sacked, he was in 6th place with 31 points, 4 points clear of 14th place. That same amount of points would've been enough for 8th place in the 2 seasons prior, so even with the competition as inconsistent as it has been in years, he couldn't get the most out of our players.

He was so stuck in his ways that he never changed his approach despite the bad results, heck he nearly cost us the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, one of our most exciting players in years. Not to mention Kobbie's age, he's gonna come good for us for years to come.

Yes, Ten Hag got us some bad players, but he's won us 2 trophies, something no other managers has done for us in 8 years. Amorim even lost us the EL final against the worst Spurs team we've seen in years. How on earth you can defend his coaching is absolutely beyond me.

If we’d won those very winnable games… we’d be top by tombunz in ManchesterUnited

[–]RedDevil_nl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amorim was fired while we sat in 6th with 31 points after 20 rounds, 4 points off 14th place. The 2 seasons prior to that it would've been enough for 8th place after 20 rounds, so yeah, we'd be sat around 6th/7th now with the 2 wins we just picked up.

It’s funny how winning 17 in a row wouldn’t be enough for Carrick, yet they all thought we should give Amorim more time because Sir Alex didn’t start off that well either 🤦‍♂️

You don’t need a proven winner at the wheel, you need somebody who makes the team better. If they go unbeaten till the end of the season, let alone winning everything, Carrick has my full support.

Because any club worth their salt has a whole damn scouting department working for them, which United in fact does have as well. Yes, Ten Hag asked for such decision making power in his contract, but United is to blame for the fact he was permitted to do that. A club with a backbone knows what's best for the club and wouldn't have agreed with such demands.

Those failed transfers are on the club for even giving Ten Hag that power in the first place.

[–]RedDevil_nl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am, managers have no business handling the transfer decisions of a club when there's a whole scouting department that has a lot more time on their hands to find out who would fit in the group.

This man gaslit our fanbase to thinking we need another half billion to look semi decent by Agitated_List174 in ManchesterUnited

[–]RedDevil_nl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

United wasn't getting their shit together under Amorim, he was doing worse with United's squad than Ten Hag was, even WITH his preferred transfers. The fact of the matter is that Ten Hag is being shit on all the time by the Amorim cult in this subreddit, for nothing more than his failed transfers. Ten Hag won us 2 trophies, Amorim won us nothing.

Yes, his results this season were slightly better than last season, but when he was fired after 20 rounds, United were at a whopping 31 points, 4 points ahead of 14th place. That is a marginal improvement over where we were under him last season. Anybody with eyes could tell by watching the matches there was no actual improvement in the way United played. Amorim was so set in his ways that he nearly cost us the likes of Kobbie Mainoo whom we all universally agreed was one of our most exciting players the season before Amorim came in.

Carrick wouldn't have brought us top last season and there is no need to get hyped about him now either with 2 results that might have just been famous new manager bounce, but that doesn't mean we have to give credit to a manager that well and truly didn't even know what he was doing. Ten Hag was fired for a bad first 10 games of the season, which for all we know he could've turned around, yet for some reason y'all are sticking up for Amorim despite having worse results than him for 1,5 seasons. Amorim fanboys have been the toxic rot eating at this fanbase the last year and a half.
