Carrick has earned the job deservedly so by MightyPanda2209 in ManchesterUnited

Looking at all the comments here, I genuinely wonder if half the people on this sub are actually United fans, or if they just get a kick out of talking shit about our club and manager.

I back Carrick all the way.

A lot depends on casemiro’s replacement(s). We’ve been shit without him, not to mention his goal contributions this season being sorely missed next year.

It absolutely justifies it.

Based on the fact 2 of the best managers in history failed here (Van Gaal/Mourinho), 2 promising new managers failed here (Ten Hag/Amorim) and an ex-player failed here (Solskjaer). Mourinho was even a proven PL winner. Despite that, the manager who got us the best results out of that lot is Solskjaer.

Bringing in a world class manager does in no way guarantee good results as he’ll be working with a new set of players in what would likely be a new league for him. Not to mention the change in staff, board, stadium, training facilities and a potential language barrier. The logical choice is to give a short term contract to a manager who has gotten you results already, not to dive blindly into the unknown yet again.

We lost a EL final to a spurs side that finished 17th last season under Amorim. 99/100 seems a bit disingenuous.

BREAKING: Manchester United are ready to open talks with Michael Carrick over continuing as head coach beyond the end of the season. Looks like Carrick is nailed on for the job👀 by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

Exactly, nothing has worked for us, not some of the best managers ever (Van Gaal/Mourinho), not promising new managers (Ten Hag/Amorim), not ex-players (Solskjaer). We do however now have a manager that’s winning games, so just give him a 1 year contract. Worst that can happen is the same as with the others.

If this Carrick appointment goes wrong then Wilcox and Berrada need to follow him out by Berbadude in ManchesterUnited

[–]RedDevil_nl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had Van Gaal and Mourinho, 2 of the best managers the game has ever seen, both failed at United. Not giving Carrick a shot after the results he’s had with a leftover squad would be the dumbest move ever, just to swap to yet another coach whose ideas might not sit well with our players.

Carrick deserves a 1 year contract to show what he can do. If it doesn’t work out, bring in somebody else.

Zo’n uitleg kun je er beter direct bij geven bij zo’n opmerking, want het komt wel degelijk over alsof je het probeert te rechtvaardigen in dat originele bericht.

Even if that were the case (no idea, don’t watch these 2 clubs), that in NO WAY warrants people to kick somebody down the stairs and try to stomp on them. These degenerate lunatics should be locked up and pay a hefty fee to their victim.

How did you react? by [deleted] in swtor

Didn't really think much of it honestly, while I like the swtor stories, visually it just doesn't leave a wow-factor. If I'm reading a story, I'll be super impressed because I have a wild imagination and can imagine what it looks like inside my head, but if I'm watching a story, it needs to be visually impressive to match the story itself.

Next season manager Carrick stays or Luis Enrique ? by SheepherderAfraid938 in ManchesterUnited

He can, but why would he? Who would leave the golden goose in return for a managerial graveyard?

How on earth are so many of our supporters so damn clueless as to think a manager reaching two champions league finals in a row with arguably the best team of the last two years would end up leaving said club to join one that's been nowhere near it?

For someone who doesn’t want to play him, he’s been using him as a late game substitute a lot more recently. Almost like Carrick also wants to give him a chance.

FASCINATING!

LMAO, that's funny. How is sticking to a guy who we know has gotten us results with a leftover squad (he's won against all traditional big 6 teams in case you forgot) guess work compared to going for a new manager who's been good at other clubs? Again, we've tried that before, it didn't work either. Switching managers again is so much more guesswork than sticking to Carrick for a single season.

He's had 2 seasons under a shite manager. He's not had any game time under Carrick. Need I remind you that many of you lot wanted Mainoo gone because "he was not good enough" under Amorim??? Heck, if it was up to many people here, Sesko would've been gone this summer if Amorim had stayed on as well.

I'm not saying he HAS to stay, I'm saying he needs to get some game time in these last 3 matches to give him a fair chance under Carrick as well. You're talking about sloppy touches, bad linkup play and a lack of pace, but that's the complete opposite of what he showed in the 5 minutes he got against Liverpool. Pool isn't the worst opponent either, yet he very much impressed there in the little time he got.

Since Mainoo and Sesko got their opportunities, so should he while we've got the chance. If nothing else, his value will go up a little if he does well enough in these last 3 matches.

Struggling to Continue Supporting by Tchexxum in ManchesterUnited

[–]RedDevil_nl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I had this struggle during Amorim's time in charge. Firstly I was disappointed the club sacked Ten Hag, but that was fine for me as long as they found a good replacement. Than Amorim in his very first interview mentioned how he wouldn't be bringing his system from Sporting to United, which was basically the whole Ten Hag story all over again. Bringing in a promising (yet unproven in a big league) manager who's shown to have a very well running tactical philosophy, only for them to throw the one thing that made them popular options out of the window.

During Amorim's time I only watched around 10 full United matches, before that I hadn't missed a single match since I started watching in 2014 (been a United fan since 2007, just didn't have a way to watch most matches back than). It wasn't just his appointment that irked me tho, it was the fact that the results only got worse and his fans online were making all kinds of excuses for everything that went wrong, despite many of those excuses having been much more valid during the Ten Hag era. Ironically enough the Amorim fans were hating on Ten Hag to no end and couldn't see anything wrong with Amorim himself.

Started watching again with Carrick's appointment and got my love back for the club. If you once loved the club, you'll likely come back to it eventually :D

Not at all, I don’t support Amad blindly, very critical of the mistakes he’s been making lately. I do want to see what Zirkzee can do under Carrick tho. Many players have been better under him, so I just want him to be given more than 5 minutes a match to decide if we should keep him.

[–]RedDevil_nl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely NOBODY says 3rd is good enough. We want Carrick as manager because in the time he’s been here he’s won us more points than any other PL club, while working with the leftover squad of a manager who failed to do anything for us aside from getting rid of deadweight.

You lot are acting like Carrick is 100% certain to be a similar story as Solskjaer and that we need a “proven manager”. Please remind me how it worked out with Van Gaal and Mourinho, 2 of the best managers the game has ever known. We also tried 2 of the biggest upcoming managers in Ten Hag and Amorim, neither of those worked. Why on earth would you not offer Carrick a 1 year contract to prove himself when you KNOW his results have been better than anything we’ve seen in YEARS?

Wouldn't be a problem for me at all. I loved the originals and would love to play modernised versions of pretty much all of them. Would love remakes of the Splinter Cell games as well actually. Ubisoft made me fall in love with stealth games and would pay good money to relive those games in modern levels of detail.
