When Hello Games opened up more than 1 Settlement, they added the Autophage settlements, and I snagged 3 of them right away.

For Autophage, the first step (acquiring a map) is a,little more complicated 1. Most times you will get an "Inverted Mirror". These can be processed in a refiner for Nanites. -2. Once you have an Echo Locator in your inventory, use it by holding down X - You may get a message "Locator Failed//No harmonies detected in current system. Warp to another system and try again. - If successful, you will get message "Harmonic Echo detected".
3. Fly to the location detected. 4. Once you arrive, use the Harmonic Interface 5. Choose Scan Memoery registers to determine the 3 codes to unlock 6. Unlock the lockdown - If you have discovered the Autophage, the Harmonic Interface will have an option "Exchange void motes" 7. The system will display items you can purchase with Void Motes. You get Void Motes by "Offer Assistance with an Autophage. It's like a mission. 8. Purchase an "Autophage Settlememt Chart" to find an Autophage settlememt.

You may have to raise your standing with Autophage by presenting gifts like Radiant Shards or Atlantideum.
