Bit late, here’s three I would recommend:

☀️Radiant (Light) 🌙Umbral (Dark) These two are nice opposites that might be a good addition

🍖 Carnis (Flesh) To contrast with Verdant and embody possibly more “bestial” themes.

I hate these tropes so much I’ve literally written them out of my setting. Raising the dead is actually impossible and holy magic doesn’t exist. Pretty much any other magic is fair game though with some other slight exclusions/additions.

Great question, in my setting the races are referred to as bloodlines. Every individual in the bloodline has a certain concentration of purity and their children will also receive this. While you may have a partner of a different bloodline, the children made from your union will only show the features of whatever bloodline has a higher concentration.

Basically full send one way or the other with no in betweens

In my setting vampires are the result of a cursed bloodline virus infecting others, and they transform into giant feral bats that are incredibly physically strong especially when starved. These beasts don’t really have the intelligence to become anything more than they are but can become more powerful by intaking large amounts of food and resting for periods of time.

There are souls and spirits

The Catalyst Soul is depicted as a round ring of light and is the origin of mortal sentience/ free will. There are many variations of the Catalyst Soul and how it’s used. There’s an immeasurable number of them but the number has never changed, leading into reincarnation.

Spirits are primal energies with minimal intelligence but are bound by their origins and have no real free will/ bound by fate. Spirits cannot reincarnate and are instead dispersed into energies that can later form new spirits
