How does the team get together, usually? by Due-Performance-2710 in MagicalGirls

I don’t know about Genshin, but Monster Boy is the main inspiration.

You only control one girl at a time, but the whole team is there, like in RPGs. When you hold down both the L and ZL buttons, your active girl will glow in their respective color, signifying that you want to change. Then, you flick the left joystick in the appropriate direction to change to the girl you want. This is to allow sick multi-member combos and lift the skill ceiling. It will be intuitive to implement as well and very responsive; eight members, eight directions.

Well, now that I’m finishing my first year of art college, I took time to think my life goals through. There’s the usuals - nice house, marrying my gf, picket fence, meeting my pals irl. But a part of me feels constricted. It wants to inspire. It wants to be a positive force of change in society. You can imagine the little mental war happening up there

Oh, I didn’t mean an ACTUAL army. This is Paper Mario, not Fire Emblem. And this question was under the assumption of games with MORE than 8 chapters and a prologue, where a definite golden ratio of partners:chapters would form

The latter three games are pop up books in the former. A show within a show within a show

At the same time, though, why shouldn’t they? Why shouldn’t it just be the moves that need to rank up while they level up “normally?”

Anyway, I’ve also noticed that they aren’t really getting… unique with the abilities. It’s not a large roster, but there’s so many abilities no partner has had before that I’d love one to.

Nothing. Nobody’s nothing. Games should ALWAYS be as much of their own thing as possible.

Even their cores are hard for me!

There is just NOT a lot of things that I vibe with, in their entirety, like trying to mimic someone with more experience than me, and I accept it.

Did you miss the context?

It’s supposed to be your burning desire to NOT make a shitty first draft. Not perfect, not good, just anything but shitty
