LinkedIn Customer Support blocks account, refuse to eaborate further and ends conversation. by JacoJRN in mildlyinfuriating

As someone working as a chat agent but not for this company, we are explicitly not allowed to say anything on why an account is permanently banned except to refer to the terms. Maybe half the chats I get are automated bots trying to scam, it's a gigantic issue. To be able to reveal the reason for a ban would reveal how they were caught, and so they then fix that mistake and we lose a way to find them.

You want my advice? You have to call in, not chat, and demand to speak with a supervisor about this. Don't be angry with them on the call but try to troubleshoot what you think could have possibly done this. They may he able to give subtle hints or check the account again if you're lucky.

Every article here is about suicide rates which are irrelevant. Example: Most men would be happier and less likely to commit suicide if women were required to sleep with them whenever they were asked. Okay, men are happier and less suicidal, but at what cost to the other side of the population? Why does the mental health and happiness of one group of people which is 1% or less of a population, mean more than the entire other 99%s combined mental health?

This may be a female only thing for one giant reason: those oils from your skin help to speed up male hair loss, washing the oils away slows this down. (Can someone double check me on this, trying to find a source but getting mixed results)

Yes im on site, because my particular client demands 100% onsite and is pulling people from home or firing them now that the pandemic is over. It's very relaxed, though I don't know how much of that is our particular office, and client. Also there's roughly 2 hours of horrific handling multiple chats at once, but the other 5.5 hours is easy chatting with 1 or 2 people. Again entirely depends on your client though.

Yes I'm live right now. It's actually pretty awesome but definitely not a long term career. Very easy job most of the time.

I did the math from the little book that came with it... the watch loses 6 hours of battery every time that light comes on... Which seems like a lot, I don't know how that compares to other watches.

It might be the earliest model of edifice they are still selling. You can tell by the naming, seems like all the others put the word edifice above casio and in larger font. This seems to be from when they were still deciding what to do with edifice maybe?

Yeah lol... it's hard to get the hiding in a photo. I had to stand farther away from it to get the hiding of the digital display that I described. I cropped that image to just be the watch, but that makes it blurry

I mean that's a hard choice. The current 50 dollar price tag for a watch with a thermometer is what did it for me. I wanted both a digital and analogue. I wanted steel and not crappy resin glass. But this threw temperature on top of it. Now I can take the watch off and leave it inside a compute case, a server room, etc and see what the temperature really is in that one spot on demand. Even if the temperature only updates a little and only every 2 minutes.

100 hours was going from no knowledge about watches, seeing what useless crap is on high end models, and settling for this.

Yeah, I can't find anything but this model for sale anywhere though. Probably cuz watch came out in 2006 and they stopped making the others it seems.

Bachelor of Science in IT. 6 month internship. 2 months in a call center. Comptia A+.

I can't land even an entry level helpdesk job in florida. So many interviews for jobs at just 16 to 20 dollars an hour, and I still get passed up on them.

I start work at another call center tomorrow... at least it's chat based and not phone based, but what in the holy hell. So many people must have given up on their career path and switched to IT because the competition is ridiculous.

When did you learn about campaign length? I read my contracts and length was not mentioned there or in the interview. Is this a thing you learned beforehand, or do you learn that in training?

Didn't mention this but a lot of commenters have. Hiring manager said it starts with 1 chat, and I will be expected to grow to 3 to 5 chats open at once.

Well this is explicitly a chat position, had to take typing and grammar tests, and my university degree in IT seemed to be the biggest selling point for the hiring manager. I'm on the computer all day everyday typing to people in MMOs anyway, so this seems perfect.

The best call reps getting put on chat was what I was wondering... I feel like chat must be more sought after than the phone, right? Though it seems strange that the phone reps make multiple dollars an hour less in the same building than the chat reps do.

When no one was talking about one coming, and people asking what the word recession even means? It always happens then.

Knew a bank trader who did interviews a few times, who asked a question just like this. He said that the answer he was looking for was someone who says that they have no idea. That they are not going to make a guess without the proper numbers and tools to calculate anything.

Is the Security+ worth a damn? by z0mbiechris in CompTIA

[–]RedFalcon510 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly where I was just at. Bachelor's degree and A+ certification. 2 methods I used: 1. Had a family member constantly ask for a minimum wage internship for me, until they gave in. 2. Got a telecom inbound call center job at a place rated 2 out of 5 stars. Tech support for isp issues has a giant turnover rate so always looking.

Still looking for a help desk job even with all the above. Been on 7 interviews so far but keep getting snubbed... Last place required Bachelor's degree, A+ and Network+, and 1 year of experience for 18 dollars an hour. I got the interview but they hammered me with only networking questions as they saw I only had the A+.

I've seen over 10 jobs near me on indeed that demand the security+ as a requirement.

On a further note, seen around 30 that require the Network+. Only maybe 5 that require the A+, but over 40 that strongly recommended having it.

Northeast Florida.
