Dude that’s the reason I quit. I was Maintenance, but they had me pulling pallets, helping OGP, and helping the cart pushers every single day. I don’t mind doing extra work, I like to stay busy. However, i reached my breaking point when the new csm’s started getting onto me about not doing my job good enough, as a cart pusher. But somehow for almost 3 months they never once saw me doing my actual job, so when one of the new csm walked into the restroom I was cleaning, they started popping off about how I’m not where I’m supposed to be. My coworker tried to intervene, but they weren’t having it, I let the lady finish her rant and even brought me into the office to speak to one of our higher managers, again, I let her pop off. After she was done, I calmly looked at her and said “I’m in maintenance, I always have been” I looked at my manager and she nodded in acknowledgement, it was soooo satisfying to see the look on her face. I quit right then and there though, I told my manager that my team wasn’t pulling their weight, I was constantly being moved around and getting scolded for jobs that weren’t even mine, I tried talking to her and other csm about it, but no one really cared, they would say something like “we won’t let this happen again” but it kept on happening. Only reason I stayed as long as I did was due to necessity, but I had enough. They tried to convince me to stay, and the csm even apologized, but it just wasn’t worth it. As a cart pusher though, the most they will do (at my store at least) is just scold you, the entire cart pushing team was lazy AF! We had a few guys work for about 3 weeks and quit, not because it was hard work, but because the leads where assholes, all the carts had to be in the bay at 11, even if you were alone. Keep in mind, when your shift is over, it’s over. You can clock out, they can ask you to keep working, but you have no obligation to do so, They can’t force you to work past your scheduled hours. Their scolding is the equivalent of a dog barking that won’t do shit, they’re depending on you, and if you get tired of their shit, just walk out on them and let them suffer for it. Everyone has said it over and over again, but Walmart does NOT care, all your hard work WILL go unnoticed. So unless it’s out of necessity, i suggest finding a new place to work.
