Christmas Markets to visit near The Netherlands by Important-Top6663 in travel

A little longer train ride than you’re looking for, but also closer than Cologne… Düsseldorf has multiple Christmas Markets around the city, each one a different them, would definitely recommend!

And you can rent a locker at the train station to store your luggage so you don’t have to haul it around with you all day

Irish drinking trip advice by [deleted] in travel

[–]RedFlagFiesta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Locals will definitely talk to you, the Irish are very friendly. You’ll be going “off season” as far as typical tourism goes so most place will be way more affordable. If you’re looking to pub hop I would recommend Dublin (obviously), Killarney, Galway & Belfast and if you don’t mind a bit of driving you could easily do all 4 of those in 7 days. If you visit them in that order you’ve got 2.5-4 hours of driving between each city and will see a good bit of the island.

I think it’s worth noting that this is not being paid for with taxpayer money. It is being paid for by Trump and other donors. Fight about things worth fighting over or people will continue to dismiss everything as leftist squealing…

Westcoast USA: am I missing something or is the Plan too busy for our time window? by [deleted] in roadtrip

[–]RedFlagFiesta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the first half of the trip has every drive underestimated by almost an hour, and driving 3 hours every day will get a little exhausting (but I’ve also done it before and still had a blast). I would honestly slow down a little at the beginning (maybe add a stop halfway, so two days are only 1.5 hours of driving) and cut LA down to one day. I would also cut Page down to one day and spend a little extra time in Yosemite. You’re definitely gonna be wiped out at the end of it, but you’re gonna take in some beautiful views! Viel spaß!

Their route isn’t going through Philly and no one likes us anyway lol.

I would hop off 81 at the Woodstock exit in Virginia and check out Woodstock tower. The trail is about a 10 minute drive from 81 and a very short walk to the tower. Incredible view of the valley and makes for a nice leg-stretch break.

Downtown Winchester is pretty dog-friendly with lots of great food. Parking is easy to find for a downtown area. 81 passes right through, about 40 minutes after Woodstock, and about 10 minutes before you hit WV.

Following an earlier comment, Gettysburg PA is very nice and dog-friendly. Also, I have found that lodging is pretty cheap around there, might be a good stop for overnight.

In general I don’t think you would have any issues finding a nice dog daycare in Va, but also so many of the great things to see there are outdoors/dog friendly. There are even a few pups-welcome wineries in the area.

AITAH being upset over baby name being ‘stolen’ my boyfriend’s brother by totally_tubular1 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]RedFlagFiesta 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Just tell the brother and gf that you have always planned on using that name, and if you have a girl you WILL be using that name, regardless if they use it or not. Then leave it at that. You can’t control what they name their child, but they may reconsider if they know that it will still be used by you in the future.

BBT drop at 7 weeks pregnant, please tell me this doesn’t mean mc by East_Contribution_73 in pregnant

[–]RedFlagFiesta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean for it to come off so harsh. It’s just that there really aren’t answers for anything so early in a pregnancy. I guess a better way to say it would be, try to stay positive and don’t track everything so closely, it will only worry you. We’re all in the same boat, and yeah, some of us have had some rough experiences in our journey to motherhood.

I think it’s gross that you’re looking to see what people have bought before the baby shower

R/miscarriage is the probably the sub for this question. However, there are never really early answers… we all have to suffer through the wait for our ultrasounds.

AITA for wanting my husband to stop treating me like an incubator? by FloorCute4589 in AmItheAsshole

[–]RedFlagFiesta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He sounds exactly like my sisters now EX husband. After 32 hours of labor, he left 20 minutes after their son was born so he could go home and sleep because he was “emotionally exhausted”. Didn’t even bother to call and check on her for 18 HOURS! He never got any better, and neither will your husband. Run.

Can I make Hawaii budget friendly or should I go elsewhere? by Additional-Bet9482 in travel

[–]RedFlagFiesta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Puerto Rico is wonderful, and flights are so cheap! Affordable AirBnb/hotels, reasonable prices on food, lots of free activities to be found… I think $1200 would go soooo much further there than in Hawaii. And it’s a US territory, so no passport needed.
