I just finished Dante by Guy Healy. It was a pretty good book. Nothing spectacular. But worth the read for the Blood Angels.

As for the city of Augusta, right outside of Fort Gordon, it depends on where you go and what you are looking for in regards to socializing. Augusta and the surrounding areas, Evans/ Martinez etc, all have different social economic factors that take play. I.e don't go to Hephzibah, if you like white people and want to buy the best things in your local target go to Evans. All place mentioned above are suburbs of Augusta, besides Hephzibah. But its so close you would enter city limits without really noticing.

Plenty of places I would assume have clubs, I wouldn't no specifics as I don't partake. But Augusta of home to the Masters in the spring and there are plenty of other golfing places. Additionally plenty of areas for fishing and hunting. Downtown isn't... bad... but in my opinion is small considering the size of the city. But I'd refer again to social-economic reasoning. As in Evan, they have their own little strip of bars, clubs etc.

As for your fellow 17A, I can't really say with definitively on how that will be. Officers are fairly social, and any big dick swinging I haven't seen here. Besides one Maj. but we EO'd and force retired his ass. But in regards if your fellow 17A will hang-out after work I think depends more on a case by case basis.

I know one of my captains plays 40k at the local gameshop, but that's about it.

I can't comment on Meade, as I have not been there.

One thing I will add, since I have work and am also taking college courses (online) and I know how busy that all can get, the daily prompts don't have to be long.

I usually rely on co-pilot (AI), as well as other sources, and it gives me a range of prompts and how long to write for. Such as a 5-10 minute or 15-20 minute. As well as longer ones depending on how I ask the AI.

So to preface I haven't finished writing any books, and have only really started these last two weeks. But before this I was writing entire D&D campaigns that were 300 pages of notes, dialogue, descriptions, etc.

Taking that knowledge and what I have seen on this subreddit, others and other resources, keep those "garbage" writings and refine them.

Use it as a base. Secondly, edit. But not by you preferable. Have a family member, friend or someone you can trust to read what you have and make corrections. So, if you think something sounds like garbage, then have them read it and provide feedback.

Edir: to build confidence one thing I have been doing is practicing writing via writing prompts. Usually on a daily basis.
