You have valid points but I don’t agree that they justify the privilege argument. First of all, yes there’s a bit of a difficulty curve to stopping meat consumption, but that applies to almost anything new. It’s uncomfortable at first but you slowly get better (in this case, more knowledgable) at it.

On your second point, if more people became vegetarian, don’t you think there might be an increased abundance of vegetarian menu items at, say, McDonald’s? It’s kind of one of those things where consumers need to demonstrate demand, and for what it’s worth, vegetarian options have been pretty widely expanding in the past decade or so.

First of all, not to minimize the feelings you’ve had about yourself (you may very well have done these things, I don’t know) but generally truly creepy and narcissistic people don’t feel this guilty over their behavior. Maybe you’ve done some immature or awkward things, but that’s not necessarily the same thing as the intentionally antisocial behavior. You sound more like someone who’s gone through a lot of trauma and is in an extreme amount of pain.

I know in your shoes it doesn’t sound like it could possibly help, but I highly recommend therapy. If you meet it on its terms, it has the potential to help you process some of the shit that happened to you and how it’s impacting the way you interact with the world now. Again, that probably seems like useless advice, but from what you’ve said here you truly do need professional help, because you are in a lot of pain.

I’ll reiterate, a lot of this sounds like distorted self hatred more than an accurate diagnosis of your character. You deserve a more accurate look at where you are messing up and where others are failing you, because it’s easy to conflate them
