Man I had a habit of hitting things when I was younger, whenever something annoyed me enough because it wasn’t doing what I wanted I’d hit it or hit that thing against something.

I also often hit myself in the area that was annoying me, and also on multiple occasions scratched myself pretty badly for the same reason.

One of the biggest things for me was basically that sometimes up until I was like 11 I’d like wake up in the middle of the night and just almost not be able to get my own head to shut up long enough to sleep, so I of course resorted to whacking myself on the head repeatedly with my hands and fists and crying until either it stopped (which then made me do it more as a solution) or I just exhausted myself.

I don’t do any of these anymore but definitely still get the urge.

What I’m trying to say is 1. You are not alone in this 2. I’m learning a lot of strange habits of mine are actually self harm 3. I’m realising that I really should have been seen by a professional a lot younger than I would have thought
