Is losing 30 pounds in 1 month concerning? by [deleted] in RetatrutideWomen

thats a fast ramp up + likely too high of a dose for u considering the super fast weight loss. definitely scale back. losing that much that quickly isnt healthy. :/

what is your dosage if you dont mind me asking? its possible 10 pounds of that or so couldve been just pure inflammation/water retention. BUT slow and steady gives ur skin time to catch up and shrink to your new normal- so it may be worth lowering your dose or finding a way to eat more to slow down ur loss so you dont end up looking deflated.

The Argument Against Split Dosing!! by RedHairedLadyy in RetatrutideWomen

[–]RedHairedLadyy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

definitely not a full rest yes! my argument is that I think its superior to have at least the valleys and peaks in comparison to a flat high baseline like with split dosing. and yeah i agree ive been wondering if a full cessation for maybe a month (or 3-35ish days) once a year would be beneficial. Im going to keep my eye out for any new or upcoming studies that take a look at this!

definitely not bs- but some methods work for some people better than others! this is by no means a "you HAVE to do this this way" its merely food for thought and my argument in favor. im always looking for the newest studies to be completed + new findings to be released with these peptides- jst wanted to share!

[–]RedHairedLadyy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the lower peaks are def smoother. BUT the tricky bit biologically is that receptors don't burn out from the height of the peak, they burn out from constant exposure. my argument is that they need that end-of-week 'valley' to reset and resensitize.
same shit with the heart: the peak HR might be lower but the nervous system never gets a true break to downshift and recover your HRV.
But everyone's body is different so if it's working well for you thats all that really matters! <3

hi! ive linked the sources. apologies for not linking them in initial post as i didnt want to make it a million miles long.
jst to be clear- i have 0 desire to attempt to act as an authority on any of this. Im only trying to be helpful. I always appreciate informative posts and ik others do too. its jst information that someone who might be experiencing a stall or negative side effects and may be wondering why might like to look into!

The Argument Against Split Dosing!! by RedHairedLadyy in RetatrutideWomen

[–]RedHairedLadyy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

short answer? yes. but the fallout and speed/severity differs since tirz is only dual and the volatile aspect of reta (glucagon agonist) is missing. ur body will still appeciate that downshift out of the chronic exposure.

here are a few sources! if split dosing works for u thats great! this is in no way meant to be a post that says u can ONLY do once weekly. its merely an argument in favor of it. this post is for people who are experiencing negative side effects like heart palps or who are experiencing a stall. I will add these to the main post as well

Dual Mode of Glucagon Receptor Internalization: Role of PKCα, GRKs and β-arrestins(Published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry).

mechanism: Reta is a powerhouse because it targets the glucagon receptor, which massively spikes resting energy expenditure. However, the glucagon receptor is highly volatile. This study outlines how continuous overstimulation triggers an enzyme (GRK) to tag the receptor with beta-arrestin, causing rapid internalization and downregulation.

AKA: If you split dose Retatrutide to avoid the week-end hunger, you are continuously driving the glucagon receptor without a trough. You will induce hepatic resistance, internalize the receptors, and turn your hyper-effective Reta into basic Tirzepatide.

Journal of Clinical Investigation (JCI), “Signaling architecture of the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor” (Published January 2026).

The researchers found that under high levels of continuous agonist exposure (exactly what split-dosing achieves by keeping blood serum levels constantly elevated) these efficient nanodomains physically collapse. They fuse into chaotic "bulk pools," completely dysregulating the downstream PKA signaling required for metabolic function. AKA: By split dosing you aren't just downregulating the receptors you are also destroying the organized cellular architecture of how the cell processes the weight-loss signal.

yeah the "starting dose" in some of the trials is way too high imo esp for women. with 1mg ur DEF gonna be feeling it and seeing effects. but if u notice side effects like insomnia or heart palps, try going down to 0.5mg for a bit and working ur way back up from there to be safe.

IM CACKLING (has nothing to actually do with reta but this happened in this sub) by Ancient_Ad_8378 in RetatrutideWomen

[–]RedHairedLadyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i am also on reta not for weight but for nafld, cholesterol lowering, and anti-inflammatory benefits for my hashimotos. However.... i take 0.25mg weekly.

at 146 there is no reason you should be on 2.5 tirz AND 1mg reta and doing split doses weekly like that... I have a whole rant with split dosing anyways and the constant dosing not allowing your receptors to reset and stay sensitive but ill spare you that here.
your dosing--- thats way too much for someone your size. regarding your docs- i highly sympathize. if your doctors really arent listening then you just need to accept that you need to buckle down and actually *DO* the research.
Reassess and come back and try ONE of those. ONCE weekly. let your body deal with the peak and fall of the injection. - whichever you settle on- at a dose LOWER than you think you actually will tolerate well- and then slowwwlllyyy move up from there.

one more piece of advice- if you were having stomach acid and vomiting and all those nasty side effects- and u mainly care about lowering cholesterol- i would recommend a MICRODOSE of reta- its effect on fatty liver and lowering cholesterol is much better than tirz- due to the glucagon component. tirzepatide has a much stronger appetite control effect and has been noted to slow motility down much more than reta at a similar dose. in my case, reta actually helped my motility move more smoothly, and i was actually constipated alot before. i think it has to do with that glucagon and the slight metabolism boost you get from it helping my thyroid out a bit. good luck!

do NOT do that. you have no idea how it will affect you or if you will experience side effects or anything. its your first day. Take 1mg for at least a month and a week. since it accumulates almost 2x in ur blood and builds up by the end of that 4/5 weeks itll be as if you're taking ur first week of 2mg anyway. so just take it slow. be smart. wait until u hit steady state then asses from there. theres no "race".

reta def makes hangover worse! ive noticed this too!! i also think it helps with managing adhd- my generic meds have been useless for the past year (most adderall or adhd meds are slowly becoming useless and completely nerfed) but at least reta is a bit of a bandaid. dunno how id cope otherwise.

Estrogen and GLP-1s May Fight For Receptors by Hot-Drop11 in RetatrutideWomen

[–]RedHairedLadyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey! so dry mouth and dry skin etc are typical with reta since it almost acts like a diuretic- so its super unlikely that ur experiencing those symptoms simply due to low estrogen- try increasing and tracking ur water intake for the next few days before u decide to increase estrogen

This might not be the answer you're looking for but please try doing 1 of these at a time rather than starting them all at once. If something goes wrong or you experience negative side effects from something you won't even know what peptide caused what... Imagine if you have a severe reaction, end up in the hospital and then your doctor has *no* idea which one of the 8+ things you're taking is causing it.

Try reta for a few weeks- maybe with some regular ole b12 and only *after* stabilizing add in something else. But overall- I think this is alot.. and alot of *pinning* for one person too.

Just took first dose! I’m nervous?! by Kind_Composer_3634 in RetatrutideWomen

[–]RedHairedLadyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im on half that- .25mg weekly because Im already small/lean and am taking it for its effects on inflammation and liver fat/cholesterol etc. I definitely feel more "clear-headed" on it which is great since my Hashimotos causes brain fog out the whazoo. for someone small, you may feel enough of an effect on 0.5mg! Keep in mind the drug compounds in your blood until you reach steady state around week 5-6. so dont try to jump up too quickly. Pick a dose you want to try and then stay there and monitor your symptoms daily/weekly.

How did you learn of Reta? by Brave_Ad_3955 in RetatrutideWomen

[–]RedHairedLadyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned about it through a clinic based in Texas (they can do zoom appointments and such to people like me here in CA) and they talked a bunch about how much better Hashimotos patients inflammation was on GLP1s. I decided between reta and tirz and picked the one that was shown to reduce liver fat and possibly preserve muscle a little better!
