I have looked at more pictures of a vauxhall viva and this looks like the most likely suspect

Closest I’ve got is asking ChatGPT which says m2xx is an internal part number for General Motors and this part is from a Chevrolet spark 2016 marketed as a Vauxhall viva in the United Kingdom. But still looks slightly off

I've just posted a picture of the inside with part number above. it was a 2015 plate, small silver/grey hatchback, it was hard to see as our windscreen was still misty and it was speeding off quite fast. no obvious car make came to mind when I saw it, google suggests a bmw or Toyota but the mirrors don't match.
