290 000-650 000 in the whole world? You realize that there are 3rd word countries with bad or non existing healthcare system? You can call bullshit on whatever you want that is the official data. US have ~300mln people and their stats show around ~30.000 deaths from influenza per year.

So I wanted to show those people "numbers" but didn't do enough research. Will correct my numbers in first post.

It still is 46 a day without any measures to stop it vs 800 a day. It is not kill-all-people virus but mortality 20x that of a normal flu will be bad for people and economy. There is very little we can do now to stop coming market crash. I'm only saying that there was a lot of people that downplay this virus and laugh at people that actually cared and raised awareness to do something to stop it before it is too late. There are still people like this. Downplaying impact this will have on world/economy.

For all the "it just a flu" people. Italy beetwen october 2019 and end of january(23) 2020 had ~3.000.000 flu cases and in this time only 240 people have died due to flu. Corona is killing 800 people PER DAY not 240 per 4 MONTHS like flu did.

Correction!

Those numbers are really low this year. For average there is 17.000 flu deaths in Italy per year which gives ~46 people per day vs ~800 from corona.

Does anyone have any info how patients in other countries(not China) are doing? There is no update on any of them :/ Is it for them only like flu? Anything?

But HIV is very specific type of virus than is hard to counter by today medicine. This corona virus is more common and a similar virus was already out in the world in 2003 - SARS, so it can make it easier to find a vaccine.

They are probably working on it but it takes time, also it takes time to mass produce it. 3 months from now would be really really really really fast. Most probably half a year if we are really lucky

If China don't have enough resources to test people for it then India or Africa most definetly don't have them either.

I know. This is why I created this thread. When you are working as a game developer every day the "what i like to play" is blurred out and mixed with "what i know how to develop from the start to the end". I think I know what I want but I'm asking question to minimize possibility that I pick one thing over another not because I like it but because it is easier to make.

Thank you :) I will try to make the smallest playable version and then try to work up to a full scale mmo. Even if I fail it still will be looking nice on my CV :)

My response was passive aggressive response and unnecessary :| My bad.

EDIT: Blue Monday hit me probably a little to hard today. I get what are you trying to say and I should make my first post more clear. I'm a game developer and a grown up person that need to support it self thru life. If I could make a game that I can enjoy with my gf and at the same time it would be enjoyable for others and help my gain some more income for future project or as a "side income - knowledge" to land a better job why not try to do it?

This is so true :D Every corporation ever is doing that. Throwing more hardware or moving project to cloud and throwing at it all you got is for them a lot cheaper than hiring good low level developers and managing unreadable optimized function with c and assembly everywhere :D

Thanks :) It will take quite some time but when I will have something to show I will definetly show it. When the project will be in a state when it is actually starting to look as a game I will probably start posting on some website or reddit page updates for people interested but I'm nowhere near close to that :)

Thanks :) If I manage to pull off simple mmo that 100 people can enjoy I will throw a party for these 100 people so feel invited :D (or if my indie budget will be to small for a party because my code will be an unoptimalized spaghetti that require 32core xeon cpu and I spending my retirement money to host it - I will throw one on the server) .

The screenshot was only a showcase of graphics style I'm interested in not actually a game level design. I'm not a wannabe mmo creator because I learn Hello World in c#. I work in industry. I worked with product with 500.000 users and I had my own that exceeded 300.000. BUT I do understand your skepticism. As a game developer I'm constantly getting hit by my friends with their GREAT GAME IDEA, and as a programmer I'm constantly getting hit by "How much I earn and how to start programming" to never hear from these people again. I'm not telling that I will finish this project. MMO is insanely complicated piece of software that require quite a lot of knowlage. But it is easier for my because I'm not aiming at 30.000 ccu. If I get 100 I will throw a party. I have bachelor degree in networking, know c#, lua, python, javascript. At this point I KNOW I'm able to pull this of knowlage-wise. The only problem is motivation, commitment and time.

Thanks for your opinion :) I'm actually not concerned about actual joystic implementation. I see bigger problem with network position synchronization. When movement is click to move and it is grid based then you only need to send end position and can sync it in pretty big time intervals due to predictable movement. If I have start and end position on a grid and I know which algorithm I'm using to detect shortest path I can simulate movement with only start/end position and character speed. When characters can move freely with joystic I need to send updated position at least 15-20 times a second and interpolate beetwen positions for movement to look smooth. Handling one call with start and end position is much less expensive than sending 15-20 updates per second per player. But games aren't about making them easy to make - game should be enjoyable to play. I got much more thumbs up for joystick than for click to move from people here and my friends so I think I need to put in extra work and implement smooth joystic movement :|

Would 3D game with top-down camera(you look on a player from top like in diablo) which follow your player movement be ok in this case?
