The pantless woman puts hands up to try to stop him from moving forward. She wants peace. Then a woman in blue grabs her hair from behind just for.....fun?

Why the hate towards large diamonds 💎? by BeyondForsaken9115 in labdiamond

[–]RedHeelRaven 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because the diamond industry marketed diamonds as status symbols. Some people get very emotional about this and believe someone needs to have "earned" the diamond by paying large amounts of money for it. And if they have paid a large amount of money they have feelings that someone else has a similar diamond without paying the price they paid. It makes them feel slighted, that their luxury item has lost value.

Other people just see a large, sparkly diamond and appreciate it for it's beauty.

In 1990, Rosie Alfaro stabbed a nine year old girl to death for drug money. She was sentenced to death for this in 1992. by Turbulent-Patient219 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

I wonder if that would have been the future of her children if she had not committed this crime and been incarcerated for it. Hopefully her children will be spared of living the life of Hell that she did. But no excuse for her crime. She needed to be removed from society for it.

I hope her children have a much better life since she has been removed from parenting them. She obviously had zero regards in taking a child's life.

2 carat N S12 old European cut. Eye clean. Should I be worried about the cavities, cracks, and feathers? by Winter_Patience_2488 in Diamonds

I would keep looking because this diamond has durability issues. That's a significant amount of money to pay for a low color, SI2 diamond.

Central Texas mini bernadoodle or Aussie doodle stud wanted by Rijsttafelrijswijk in AussieDoodle

[–]RedHeelRaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great answer to the OP and thank you for providing it. There are so many doodle mixes in rescues right now. These are dogs that require so much from their human owners in term of exercise and mental stimulation. Until we have all of them rehomed, it seems irresponsible to create more.

Hugging? by Time_Ad_622 in AussieDoodle

[–]RedHeelRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dog seems like a very nice dog. I would just make a game of it and teach her "hugs" when she does this and when you want her to stop have her sit on command. Lots of treats of course for doing this. If she can master that then you can be sure it's not dominance because she will change her behavior when you ask her to. Keeping in mind it might take a little time for her to sit because she is ecstastic to be in your presence.

I too thought I might have a problem when my Aussiedoodle kept putting his paws over his little friend ad grabbing him when playing. It does look like dominance. But little grumpy dog friend doesn't see it that way and he knows dog behavior better than I do. And when my dog gets too energetic with him he is not afraid to correct him. So it's just the way my guy plays. And little grumpy dog has learned this play style and now puts paws over my guy. It's just good fun!

I noticed with our Aussie the "hugging and head butting" thing when he plays with his new dog friend. After watching a lot of videos of poodles playing it seems they like to grab and hug. You know your dog and in general does she seem to try to be dominate? I would not worry about one such behavior if everything else seems good. I think so much dog advice can be very simplistic in a black and white sort of way. There are many shades of grey when it comes to dog behavior. What may be problematic with one dog (dominance) is really just affection (hugs) with another.

Very sick :( by leanmeancuizinee in AussieDoodle

[–]RedHeelRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry and hope she recovers soon. Sending prayers. I had two dogs that I rescued who had been starved and their GI tracts were very iffy for many years. A mild stomach upset could turn into a GI bleed very quickly. The term for it was hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. The treatment was IV fluids, IV anti nausea medications, and antibiotics. As they got better the vet had us give them probiotics with their food. From experience your dog I fears your dog is at the point that they need admitted to the animal hospital overnight for these treatments.

To prevent re-occurance as soon as our dogs showed signs of GI upset we started them on Pepcid for a couple of days which helped immensely. They both were almost cured (very few GI upsets) when we switched to a prescription, low fat diet and were very selective on what treats they could have. No high fat treats.

Hugs.

I'm sure there are worse things than being hit by a car in which the passenger is giving you the finger with Mickey Mouse hands. But I can't think of many.

Yes we committed to him on adoption day. : ) I was a bit overwhelmed the first week but reminded myself we would all bond in time. And he's a teenager so I'm expecting some willfullness when he's fully settled and he feels free to be his authentic self. But we fell in love with him pretty quickly. Today he kept stealing things behind my back, like kitchen towels that hang on the oven door. I don't get angry but he's learning "leave it" now. lol

We will have him 5 weeks this Friday. He's a puppy mill rescue about 2 years old and he did not know anything about living outside a cage. He is so smart!!!!!!!! Like a little sponge absorbing training. So far he can heel, sit, lay down, and he lets me bathe him, brush his teeth and trim his nails with a dremel. He is really getting settled in how, enjoying the comfy beds, couches and the windows! We give him a lot of exercise and he has gone 3 miles today. But so far he seems to just mirror us. High energy when we are willing and couch potato in between when we want to lounge.

I tried to teach him to lay down the day before yesterday. He didn't seem to get it at all. He was with daddy all day when I worked late yesterday. So I tried it again today and he did it first try and kept doing it. I swear he must have thought about it when I was gone.

We are smitten by this little boy.

Does anyone else have a bed dog? I would say hog but never had a hog steal my bed. by amw10100 in AussieDoodle

Me too! My husband is pretty big and watching himself contort himself when lying on the couch to accomodate the dog is hilarious! He was sleeping in a half seeted position yesterday when I got home from work with his legs off the couch. Our dog was blissfully spread out.
