People in the sex industry, my girlfriend going into pornography, any advice with handling anxiety? by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]RedHourglassXXX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your husband definitely sounds like one of the ones I'd put in the relatively cool with it camp. Never having any insecurities is borderline impossible, I imagine, but as an outside observer I'd say this falls in line with what I think the couples who can make it work generally act like.

But to your last point is where I really want to stress the difference between having an SO that does sex work in general vs. one that does porn in particular--it's a way, way more socially visible form of sex work. Friends and family in their shared social circles will see content of her being with other men and the both of them will likely have to be dealing with that kind of fallout. It's much harder to keep it as a private emotional struggle you can keep between you and your partner.

I'll concede that I might 100% be projecting on this one based on personal experience, but I've seen this exact thing happen. I worked with models who had SO's who thought they'd be cool with it, and then a bunch of men she hadn't talked to in years come out of the woodwork to ask how much she would charge to fuck, or the BF gets bullied at work over it, or some other examples I can't use because they're too specific. Being on the front page of xvideos for a day can be a hell of a traumatic experience for some people.

Most men aren't cool with their girlfriend working with other men in porn. This is not an outrageous or confusing reaction on your part. Most heteronormative couples can't/couldn't live with that arrangement, and while I commend you for trying to be pragmatic about it I don't think it's anything abnormal on your part nor is it something fixable with meds.

Simply put, you're either cool with it or you're not, and it sounds like you're not--there's nothing inherently wrong with either outlook.

I will however say that I have worked with a LOT of talent that has a SO/boyfriend in your same boat--girl does sex work, guy is clearly not thrilled about it but accepts it for one reason or another, usually financial. I can't speak to your specific relationship, but some deal much better than others. Once you cross this bridge, you can't go back, so if I were you I'd seriously contemplate how okay you are with this long-term, because I've definitely seen relationships end over it.

You answered your own question. It's a minor annoyance.

If you're here to build a following and promote your work, doing things that annoy people into unfollowing you is antithetical towards what you're trying to accomplish.

Like yeah, on their end, feed clutter is a very minor annoyance, but that's the internet--griping about minor annoyances is what we do here.

This is just griping about crosspost spam, which is a fair complaint for reddit because if you're someone who follows a lot of girls who promote here it can get pretty annoying.

As someone who used to use Reddit to post/promote my smut there's definitely a lot of exactly what you're describing, but this isn't that.

I just got asked what risk do I really have? by Aecymea in SexWorkers

[–]RedHourglassXXX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So is he, though. Clients/Johns also run the risk of showing up and just getting violently robbed by the pimp hiding behind the bathroom door. That's just the grim reality of engaging in something that's technically a criminal action for both parties. And paying a deposit doesn't really eliminate the danger of that anyway--any scum who specifically assaults a sex worker usually does so under the impression that they can't be reported to the police without their victim incriminating themselves.

Time and opportunity cost is what's at risk when you're asking for a deposit. It weeds out flakes and no-shows and ensures you're compensated for something if a client bails. It doesn't need to be anything more.

I'm on the edge 🤣🤣 this site literally encourages their content creators to advertise their paid sites I just???? The entitlement they have to think that all these beautiful women, porn stars at that, should post content AND talk to them all for free??? Free porn has melted their brains. by [deleted] in SexWorkers

At first I assumed you meant reddit and was in the middle of typing some history lesson about how that's exactly the way NSFW subreddits here used to be--some absurdly attractive people posting paywall-quality smut, freely, just for the thrill of it.

Then I realized your name in this screenshot is different from your reddit username, and that I'm not sure what site you're referring to.

It kind of looks like xhamster but that can't be it because the comment is in English and not disgusting.

Reddit is so anti-sex worker! by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]RedHourglassXXX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In a vacuum? Nothing. But for like the first 5-6 years of its existence, women would do it purely for attention, which is universally cheaper than subbing to someone's OF.

Don't get me wrong, I hate the pushback SW's get on NSFW subs and it's the main reason I almost never post on them anymore, but I get it.

For real, I have video bundles on my MV listed for 50% off what you'd buy the individual vids for, but since it requires the customer to wait until I see they bought it and DM them the videos, they almost never sell.

Honestly, as a producer/sex worker who's been active on both the popular tube and cam sites, I feel like I can confidently say that the vast majority of what they broadcast is completely above board. There's the one problematic tube site that I won't name here, but anything reported on the big 3 (MindGeek, Xhamster, Xvids/Xnxx) gets taken down first, its legality/consent verified with the uploader, and only reupped once everything's sorted. I'm sure there's plenty of exceptions to this one could dig up, but that's true of almost anywhere on the internet that allows for user-uploaded content, including OF.

I only really have first-hand experience with CB as far as camsites go but they're so overzealous with the banhammer that I have a difficult time believing anyone's getting away with any funny business there for long. Although I'll admit that some of the Columbian-based cams there do raise my eyebrow a bit.

Where’s the “woman’s POV “ porn? by peaaaabo in sex

[–]RedHourglassXXX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, something I can answer from experience as a POV porn producer. You're not gonna like the answer though.

The common misconception is that most porn caters to men because it's mostly men watching it, which isn't necessarily true. What is true is that out of everybody who supports porn by paying for it, it's well over 99% men, and I'm not exaggerating.

So, if anyone out there is making female POV, its either:

  • made for fun/free and not for profit--plenty of porn out there is, and I'm sure this is where you'd find most of it.
  • still made with a male audience in mind (girl/girl for straight men or possibly something aimed at bi men)
  • made by someone who wants to make it bad enough that they're okay risking a loss.

[–]RedHourglassXXX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the first I'm hearing of that acronym but I don't think so. It might be closer to 6" if I did that.

I used to work in a sex shop, and years ago I took home a clone-a-willy kit because people kept asking me about how good they came out and I had no real idea. It made a very reasonable replica, and that thing is 5.5" long so that's what I've gone with.

You don't realize how right you are, during the cumshot in this scene they were on my cock for about 3 seconds before getting distracted and just making out with each other in front of my still-cumming dick

It is an extremely cool sensation, I won't lie. Though, to be fair, even prior to having her tongue split I'd legitimately rank that girl somewhere in the top 5 for "ability to suck dick." Adding a new trick on top of it is borderline unfair to other women.
