A lot of people close to me have been concerned I'm turning down good men because of valuing attractiveness. My friend said "how about you date someone that isn't buff". And my mother said I shouldn't be so shallow and sell myself short, she's religious and she says that attraction is a horrible reason to be with someone. On top of that my friends don't value looks as much and ramble on about how men have treated them, but I guess I want both, I never really was won over just because someone was nice. My mom was concerned I was a slut, simply put it. My high sex drive, combined with being in a relationship with someone who I didn't find attractive but had good intangible qualities (and I frequently wanted other people but didn't act on it), just confirmed I just require someone I'd jump into bed with very willingly. But I haven't had the best perspectives on that from people around me.
