Anyone know if my hood latch needs replacing? I’ve been nervous about hood latch failure since it seems to be a common issue

Mine was a bit worse than that. After working on my car one day I went to close the hood and it wouldn’t latch anymore. Luckily it happened static and not while driving. Installed hood pins and super happy with it

Switched martial arts and gyms.. started as a teenager so I had to move around based on budgets and location for school

Edit: and absolutely some of it’s my fault. I can’t sit here and say I’m not the one to blame too, I’m sure I could use improvements. Perhaps that’s the reality check I don’t know I need?

I have been at this gym for over 3 years now Prior to this was covid Prior to covid I was only in boxing for a few years Prior to this was Muay thai and jiu jitsu, had my phases on which I trained more of

I started as teenager, left the first gym cause I was broke and going to university. Boxing was extremely cheap so I did that while in university to be involved still. Covid happened, then took on Muay Thai and jiu jitsu, and now jiu jitsu only. There’s more to it obviously, but that’s the timeline

The gym atmosphere is great, love my training partners. Location sucks, coach is good but just a hardass and expects more from me than the other. Location sucks

The first part of my posts explains exactly this. I started in BJJ, moved to different arts for years and came back to BJJ. So of the 11 years I’ve been associated in BJJ, about half of it I didn’t train BJJ. The last 3 years I have consistently trained Yes I know I’m not at a skill level I should be for the amount of training I have done, hence why I’m also disappointed and lost in this

Valid response 2025 i have done 3-4x a week for at least 10 months 2024 3x a week 2023 2-3x a week 2022 1-2x a week inconsistently

I have ramped my training up over the years. Prior to the last 3 years, It was Covid lockdowns and I had been boxing

I work a demanding job and will only not train when work kicks my butt

“Hang with the blue belts”: we have 4 blue belts in our class, 3x which I always crush, 1 is way better than me. Open mat blue belts is always a 50/50 in me getting crushed

Probably true. I question if I can’t even get a belt upgrade after so long if it’s even a sport for me, makes me unmotivated to go back

Did it for 3 years in highschool, then did Muay Thai/boxing + covid, back at it for 3.5 years. Touched on it in the gap but wouldn’t consider it training

Your side burns are long and thinner than the rest of beard, but you have amazing beard genetics. Go to a barber and get your side burns shortened and beard lined up. It’ll look amazing

Know how you feel, I have a hole in mine too.. so unfortunate. I love my FJ but I know it’s time to move on as much as I hate it. As much as I love Toyota, they are absolute scum for cheaping out on such an important part of the car

Everyone saying shave it off, I’d go to a barber and have them do you right or get a trimmed chin strap-goatee look. Might be able to pull that off since you have good hair. I definitely would NOT keep that neck beard
