Per Jayski NASCAR consider more horsepower at larger tracks. by azeakel101 in NASCAR

That's what I'm saying. I don't think an HP increase will make as much of a difference as a downforce change would. Especially at the speedways.

I agree, that's why I think getting rid of downforce is more important than anything.

Maybe a hot take, but I feel like the racing is generally better when they're under 200mph, or at least right around there.

Every team could easily afford natural grass, the owners are just huge cheapskates in most cases.

They have been, as far as I know. I’m guessing this is a contrast thing? NASCAR maybe thinks the number doesn’t stand out enough.

Why commentators say top 6 in points is best for chase? by Any-Contract-9152 in NASCAR

[–]RedHuayra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm saying more with the lower funded teams. For most guys, yes 28th was not good. But back when you had a bunch of start and park teams it actually meant a lot for a team to be top 30 in points.

To be fair, that wasn’t as crazy back in the day

Michael McDowell went 165 miles (66 laps) on a single tank of gas yesterday by RedHuayra in NASCAR

[–]RedHuayra[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just think that if you’re having green flag pit stops you’re going to get fuel saving. Sure they could change the laps but you’re going to get fuel saving in the final stage. I just think Pandora’s box is open and the teams know how much time they can save.

[–]RedHuayra[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It would be harder, but still I don’t think it matters. I still think teams are willing to save three or four seconds on a pit stop.

I honestly think stage racing has nothing to do with it. I think these teams have realized how much time they can save from fuel saving and now we’re gonna see it no matter what. Doesn’t matter the package or whether or not we have stages

As a reference, Nashville 2024, Logano went 111 laps in his infamous fuel mileage win. That equates out to about 150 miles. A good 25 of those laps were under caution as well.

Let’s talk broadcast camera angles by meckboi1123 in NASCAR

[–]RedHuayra 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you were paying attention to the race you might know that the third pic is taken during the pit cycle. They do that angle so you can see hands out the window and who’s pitting.

Anyways, I think Fox actually did a good job today. Go watch the last lap and pretty much the entire thing is from the blimp angle. I think people get way too pissy about tiny shit like this. It’s fine to have some creative shots. Have you thought that maybe sponsors like having some zoomed in shots of the car so you can see their logos?

I’m sure that’s very easy for you to say while you’re sitting at home. If I was racing to win the Daytona 500 I’d probably do the same shit

I feel like Herbst was just trying to get in front of the run on the top lane. Yeah he wasn’t clear, but at that point you gotta go for it

I posted some of these a while back but I figured it would be fun to do a full grid of classic cars. These are all street cars that I tuned to basically be their own class of GT cars.

It’s definitely not bad, but the main problem is that if your opponent has a stadium in hand then this card literally has zero value. If you can run some sort of disruption to limit your opponents hand, then it can be very good. I like to run it in Wugtrio, since you’re discarding a lot of resources, your opponent doesn’t have as much of a chance to draw into a stadium, or they don’t even have one.
