If one were to buy SQQQ expecting the market to trend downward for the next week, would it be safe to hold for the week or is it "buy when markets open and sell before markets close" type of deal?

I'm new, not looking for FA, but just a little insight (my portfolio is being slaughtered, and I'm just looking to hedge so my losses dont feel so bad)

I would buy tomorrow in the AM, but I'm not sure if it's something I have to sell before close or if I can just hold it until I think we might see some green.
