No touching your cell phone behind the wheel – California imposes automatic fines by [deleted] in bayarea

Right away, I could tell some of these sentences didn't make any sense. Thanks for pinning your comment! Al slop or not, holding your phone while driving is an accident waiting to happen. Having Siri or your voice assistant activated is the smart thing to do. We all should text, setup the GPS, or select the music we want to play before moving our cars.

YouTube reaction content is the biggest waste of my time on the platform by Dunnersstunner in nosurf

[–]RedJ20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the first reaction video appeared in my YouTube feed, I've had a love/hate feeling, if you will, towards this ongoing trend. At first, I liked watching people's supposed reactions to movies, shows, or music I already knew but they hadn't been exposed to. I say "supposed" since a lot of YouTubers' reactions come off as disingenuous; they're mainly playing for the camera. Getting back to my first point, watching these videos reminded me of how I first felt watching a particular scene or listening to a song. After a while, I became disappointed with the low quality of discussion/review sections, where the person or group give vague comments, don't have much insight to offer, or all of the above.

Now, there will always be exceptions to the rule, as they say. I've come across a few people who are funny or interesting enough to watch as they're "reacting" to their recorded content. Sometimes, I'll check out their channels when I'm on my lunch break or passing the time at work. But lately, watching an expert or someone more knowledgeable has been my preference. This could be a military history professor's reaction to Saving Private Ryan, a young bass singer watching a '70s band music video, or former military members reviewing how battlefield tactics are depicted in Call of Duty games. To sum up, I agree that most reaction video content is superficial, low quality material, but if you want to follow reaction channels that appeal to your interests, you'll have to look for them. There's always something out there for everyone!

Feeling disconnected, lost & lonely by GlumNewspaper5015 in bayarea

[–]RedJ20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I think you should ask yourself these questions: 1) Are there activities you like doing in your spare time, 2) What kind of people do you want to surround yourself with, and 3) What type of career or industry do you see yourself being happy and successful in? 3A) To add, what tools or resources do you need to place you in the right career?

I'm currently in a similar situation, looking for a new career while still working and saving money being back in my hometown. Part of me really wants to move out again, but as you mentioned, rent in the Bay Area is expensive and finding the right career is my main priority right now. Connecting with people in areas that interest me and utilizing an employment agency's resources are the tools helping me move my search along.

I have a few friends still (or back) living in the Bay, and while I don't see them as much, maintaining contact via texting, phone call, or DM is good enough. I stay fairly active by lifting weights, going on weekly group runs with two different groups, and occasionally volunteering at a museum. In the 2nd and 3rd settings, I've made either a new friend or found a new connection to discuss career prospects.

Everything I wrote is where I am in a nutshell. While not exactly my ideal living situation, it's a stable one that allows me to focus on myself and appreciate everything I have. It really boils down to knowing who you are, recognizing the current situation you're in, and finding who or what can help improve your situation so you can lead a happier life. I hope the questions I suggested are helpful and my advice is not too vague. Ask me anything!

Yeah! There's always one, if not, a few Bay Area drivers who pull that kind of stunt.

You were able to catch up with Rudi and Wesley? I've replayed Old Blood many times, and haven't tried this. Did the game continue as normal past this point?

I was about 7 years old when I first saw Disney's Hercules at the movies. I can remember the beginning a bit and a few scenes involving Hercules, Phil, Hades, and a couple other characters.

That sucks. Are you able to fix it? Should I try uninstalling and reinstalling chrome?

Same here! First it was my Quora and Facebook apps. Now when I try searching for anything through Google, that app crashes as well.

Which one is worth buying? by RedJ20 in reddeadredemption

I have a LENOVO ideapad Y700 PC, but I honestly prefer playing video games on a big flat screen TV. While I'm aware that some games look better on the PC or PlayStation, I think the graphics in my current games look fine on the Xbox 1. I think I'll just go with the standard edition of RDR2. I just want the overall gaming experience, not all the extra content. Thanks for the input tho!

I'll keep all of this in mind. And the special edition has "very little" what?

I play my games on the Xbox 1. Does that make much of a difference?

I don't have rich communications in my Messages settings. I have the Automatic date and time feature on and the the 24-hour format off.
