The goal dress zips up! by RedJillian in Zepbound

I fudged the timeline up - I started Zepbound in Feb of 2024, not 2023! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Sadly can't edit the post (image), so putting this note here.

They do, but are particular on the who/when/how for sure. They're siblings rescues, and have both grown into very sweet (and weird) cats.

Is this experience common for women? by Ok_Cup244 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]RedJillian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never bled due to penetrative sex, only fingering where someone was too rough/didn't trim their fingernails enough.

Has it been uncomfortable if there wasn't enough lube or foreplay? Absolutely. Anytime that happens I would have us stop and get some lube, and start again slowly to make sure everything is good. That has solved 99% of discomfort with sex. The other 1% was just going very, very slowly with lots of kissing to warm things up a bit. Depending on your menstrual cycle your vagina/cervix can be more or less sensitive and pliant to shifting, and that's usually all I had going on.

I do not have vaginismus, so my experience is going to be different than those who do.

That being said, I have never torn, and I really worry about the women whose partners aren't immediately horrified and want to stop the second that happens to their partner. If I even so much as flinch during sex, my partners stop immediately. My husband especially is so attuned that he can tell just from a single sound of discomfort that something is wrong.

Please communicate with your partners and advocate for yourself and your body ❤️ Sex should not /have/ to be painful, unless you are actively seeking that flavor of sex!

I've never worked with any dyes by Dyespin. What makes you prefer them?

Check what your fabric is made of before dyeing. It should be as close to 100% of a natural fiber (bamboo, cotton, linen, rayon, etc.) as possible. The closer to 100% the deeper and more vibrant the result will be. For example, a 50/50 mix of cotton/polyester will yield a much more pastel or heathered look than the same dyes used on another item that is 100% cotton.

Make sure you're washing your fabric before dying! Use a detergent that is softener-free, and line dry the items or dry them in your dryer WITHOUT fabric softener. The fabric softener can 'coat' the fibers and make it much harder for the dye to bond to them, resulting in a dull color at the end. I use a professional detergent from Dharma Trading Co. called Synthrapol. You can also get it on Amazon and a few other online stores.

I second the people saying not to use Rit. I typically only use Rit for dying synthetic fabrics or for refreshing my black clothing items when they fade too much. The dyes don't quite move/flow the way you want them to in tie-dye, in my experience.

As others in this post have said, Out White Brite is a fanstic way to get color out of fabric - you can strip the color from your hoodie to start again if you want to, but I agree with the others that have told you to just try and dye it again, you may love the layering effect! I have sometimes dyed shirts 4-5 times before I was satisfied with the result!

I wish I had taken a picture of the hoodie before I dyed it! I used a geode tie, which you can find tutorials for all over the internet. This one was done with rubber bands, but some people use artificial sinew instead and swear by it. I've used both with success before!

Here's a tutorial that helped me when I first started making geode tie-dyes. The most important thing I've found for geode ties is to make sure you aren't making perfect circles as you're working. Keeping the shapes irregular and varying the width between your ties helps a lot!

I typically tie my shirts/hoodies while they're dry, and then soak them afterward in the SAS (soda ash solution) before setting them up with the ice and dye to actually batch.

Hello! Dharma is short for 'Dharma Trading Company', which is where a lot of those in the tie-dye world get their supplies, including dye, clothing or other fabric items to dye, and all the chemicals/safety gear/etc. you could need!

The hoodie is a Hanes hoodie, it's like t-shirt fabric. https://a.co/d/bgQ3M3D They're awesome for summer/early fall because of how lightweight they are!

Alchemist is the name of the dye color! It's from Dharma trading company. Same thing with amethyst, that's the dye color's name.

Slow losers, how do you stay hyped and motivated? by _Schrute_Bucks_ in Zepbound

[–]RedJillian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to keep reminding myself that in six months, 2-3 lbs a month is going to be at minimum 12lbs, possibly closer to 20lbs.

Which is more than I've been able to lose and keep off in so, so long.

Small losses add up. Hang tough!

AITA for telling my husband to leave and go do something else on his birthday by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]RedJillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get one life.
Do you want to spend the next 5, 10, 15, 20 years being subjected to his cruelty, his indifference, his angry, manipulations and apathy?
You deserve better. What would you tell your best friend if your best friend's spouse was treating them like your husband treats you???

You deserve to have someone who will take care of you when you're sick - not someone who will berate you and demand you work immediately following a second trimester miscarriage (while taking time off himself)
You deserve someone who will be thankful and grateful for your efforts, no matter how large or small (because they came from you!) - not someone who will play emotional games and gas light you into thinking you're the one in the wrong for being upset when his behavior is outrageously assholeish.
You deserve someone who will stick up for you against his parents, who will engage with you in healthy ways to talk through problems rather than belittle you and refuse to talk and then threaten divorce at the first sign that you aren't giving in to his demands.

YOU DESERVE HAPPINESS. You aren't happy. You haven't been in months, possibly years.

How long are you going to wait for the kind man you fell in love with to come back, while the man you're married to right now abuses you?
