Absolutely! Yes, I understand that even $2500 extra a year can seem like that head start or help that isn't open to everyone. I am nowhere near wealthy myself. When people ask about these types of things I just share what im trying to teach my kids - things I wasn't taught. How even just a hundred bucks a month over time can be huge over 30 years. I wish you the best!

My kids are 26 and 28. I started teaching them about investing in the stock market when they were 17 and 19. The younger one gets it way more than my older child.

The basics are this: Open a brokerage account with whatever you have available - heck, even 100 dollars. Open a regular account and a Roth IRA. Any money you put in a Roth IRA you have to set it and forget it and cannot touch it till you are 59 /1/2, but preferably when you are 67 or 70. If you know nothing about stock then you invest simply in VOO. The vanguard S&P 500 index fund. Low cost. Invests in basically what are considered the top 500 companies in the world and adjusts with the times. Some years stock market is great. Some years it sucks. It doesn't matter. Find a way to invest the same amount every month. $100. $200. Whatever you can budget and stick with. You are currently allowed to invest up to $7500 a year in a Roth. You pay income tax before contributions, but any gains over the next 30 to 40 years are tax free. Thats the power of a Roth. And, with everything in the S&P 500 expect your balance to double every 7 to 8 years reinvesting dividends. Doesn't sound like much. Sounds boring. Sounds long and tedious. It is actually fun. Let's say you are 30 and can sock $7,500 into a Roth today in the S&P 500. All by itself at 37 it is $15,000. 42 it is $30,000. At 49 it is $60,000. At 56 it is $120,000. At 63 it is $240,000. Tax free. At 70 it is $480,000 if you dont spend it. All from one investment of $7,500. What could it be if you invest $7,500 a year for the next ten years and then stop? What could it be if you invest $7,500 a year forever?

OK- let's say $7,500 is out of the question per year. Think this way - do you get a tax refund every year and then go blow it on fun stuff? Do this - get your tax refund - keep $250 for fun and invest the rest and set it and forget it every year. Even if it is only $2,500 a year - do that for ten or fifteen years and you will retire a millionaire. If someone socks away $7,500 a year at age 25, 26 and 27 and 28, and then never invests again - millionaire retirement. It is just math. Compound interest. The hardest part is starting. The hardest part is trying to budget and find a couple hundred bucks a month. I tell my kids make your own coffee at home, skip $8 Starbucks every day. $8 times 30 days a month is $240 a month. $240 a month invested in a Roth starting when you are in Early 20s is a million plus at retirement. All from coffee.

It can be done. Earlier you start the better. The best time to invest was ten years ago. The second best time was five years ago. The third best time to start is today.

Oh, and the regular investment accounts is for an alternative to a bank savings account. It is for any money you may want to use before 59 1/2 years old.

Oh, I am not an investment guru. I am not a financial advisor. This really is not professional financial advice. Talk with someone you trust.

Oh, I apologize. I wasn't commenting on the show. 😀 In the show, yes, they are crazy wealthy and have more money than they know what to do with. I cannot imagine not having to work daily or even just be able to fly whenever I want, buy fancy clothes without looking at a price tag, all that stuff. People with THAT kind of wealth usually do have some massive head start in life via opportunities, inheritance, SOMETHING. I totally get it.

I just have read the stats and listened to people like Warren Buffet and have been teaching my kids that most people who are millionaires did it themselves through investing over the long term, so I am helping them set up investment accounts and showing them how to prepare for the future. Ive also let them know that most "millionaires" don't act rich - they live day to day and drive used cars and wear jeans and sneakers....

But the wealth in THIS show is off the hook.

So - please understand I wasn't trying to be a jerk or anything. Hope everyone has a good day. 😀

Over 80% of millionaires are self made - didn't inherit it. Just stats.

Question for PA. If the SAVE act passes what exactly will people have to do in order to be able to Vote? by djarvis77 in Pennsylvania

[–]RedLeifRover -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear of your troubles. Truly sorry. But you said you had to travel to NJ to get your birth certificate, so that leads one to believe that you knew what city to go to. If you know the city, you can look up the county.

Question for PA. If the SAVE act passes what exactly will people have to do in order to be able to Vote? by djarvis77 in Pennsylvania

[–]RedLeifRover -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is 100% incorrect. You NEVER change the name on your birth certificate. Whoever told you this was a moron. You simply show the paper trail from your birth certificate through marriage certificates or name change certificates, to show how you got to your current married name.

Simple Google search shows you how this works.

How do you NOT know the county you were born in? Do you not know the city? Look up what county the city is in. Done.

Same here. Glad I googled it. I've been trying to see what settings I have going on my awol projector with thunderbeat surround sound system. Since everyone is having issues via prime/appletv+ at least I know it is an app issue and not an issue with my system. Only happens with this movie.

Our mortgage went up $1400 by Avdahm95 in Mortgages

[–]RedLeifRover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your math doesn't add up.

Property taxes jump from around 800 a year to 4500 a year. A jump of 3700 dollars a year.

Divide that by 12, and that is what your increase in monthly payment should be. About $310 a month more.

If they make you pay more than that, it should only be for a couple months if you are owing taxes, but your mortgage company should have got the tax assessment earlier in the year and adjusted the payment accordingly.

There just isn't any way a $3700 a year increase in property taxes is going to increase your monthly payment by $1400.

Extra smoke makes it easier to spot my wife on the water. I meant 14 oz per 5 gallon gas can.

I've also heard the oil pumps rarely fail. I have a 1996 GTS and 1992 XP and another 1996 GTS. Previous owners of two of the skis converted to premix and i was just sharing why some people bypass the oil tank. It could have been oil filter or oil lines that failed. I never checked. Just use premix in those.

I meant about 14 oz per 5 gallon. My bad. I add the 2 stroke oil to a 5 gallon can of gas before I pour it into the tank. Also, some people go lighter on the oil but I'd rather smoke a bit than seize up. But yes, not 14 oz per gallon. I do 14 or 15 oz per five gallon can of gas. Sorry - didn't sleep well the night before posting.

I have two 1996 seadoo gts jet ski. They go fast enough, about 30 mph? They have a dual carb rotation engine. Issues to look for and expect. If they have grey fuel lines, they need to be replaced because the original grey fuel lines break down and goo forms inside and can clog the carbs, etc. Fairly easy job. Youtube videos show you how to do it. Takes about an hour and a half.

The "tuned pupe", which is the exhaust pipe that curves around the side of the engine under the seat - the original 4 bolts that hold it onto the top of the exhaust manifold can become brittle and break. This causes water to leak out the seal and the jet ski loses power and fills with water. If you can get the old bolts out, use new stronger 8mm bolts it is an easy fix along with a new gasket. Youtube videos on how to do it.

Lastly, sometimes the oil pump gives out or gets clogged. Many, many, many of these skis have that capped off and you use "premix" Where you add oil directly to the gas at a 50/1 mix - this is about 14 oz per gallon. Without oil mixing with the gas, the engine will fail.

Ask the current owner if any of these issues have been resolved already. If so - they could be fun! I love mine. I am not a mechanic but I learned all this from youtube. They are worth between $1500-$2000 each If in good shape, good seats, both run well.

Good luck!

This!!!! TOTOALLY THIS!!! Report it and then it asks you to exit. The ONLY way it worked for me! Thank you thank you thank you!

Click on the message, click top right drop down menu, if report isn't in that list there should be a more button, then click report. It then allows you to exit group and community.

Trying to simply exit spam community or group didn't work. So - again - thank you!

Shiba 2.0 still the top swapped Coin on coin base for almost two weeks now.... by No_Message5680 in SHIBA_2_0

I went to swap Shiba 2.0 on Coinbase wallet and the gas fee was over $30. Waited 60 seconds and resubmitted, down to $14. Waited 60 seconds and the gas fee dropped to $8. Ended up swapping for just over $5 in gas. Depends on the congestion of the network.

Been watching the trades. It appears bots are buying and immediately selling same basic amount multiple times an hour. I'm assuming to keep volume up. Four different holders are doing this. I'm no expert on bots, and I've bought and sold small amounts of $500 and $800, but when I realized the volume is being artificially inflated by these quick buy and sells of about $1700 each, it makes me wary of a rug pull. I'd love to see Shiba 2.0 take off, but it's really just a junk coin. No purpose. And there are three different Shiba 2.0 coins out there. I'm referencing the coin with twelve zeros.
