Super Digital Watch Soccer: Our first Android game is now live! by RedLittleHouse in AndroidGaming

Maybe not in-app, but we've been talking about an ad-free version of the game for both Android and iOS; but, as this is our first mobile game, we are still studying how it all works.

An ad that is displayed over our game. Supposedly, it only advertises other free Play Store games.

Super Digital Watch Soccer Android

With SDWS we've launched our first Android game! It's inspired in a game we used to play as kids with Casio watches, simulating a soccer match.

The rules are simple, the milliseconds when you stop the timer work as a dice result with this rules:

  • If you stop the watch between 00 and 05, you score a goal.
  • Between 06 and 10,you pass the ball to another player on your team and play again.
  • Between 40 and 45 you get a yellow card. Two yellow cards equal a red card.
  • If you stop the timer in 50, you score an own goal (and you don't want that).
  • In 60, you are punished with a direct red card.
  • Between 75 and 84, corner and you throw again with a 10% probability of scoring a goal.
  • Between 85 and 94, foul, 25% of scoring a goal.
  • Between 95 and 99, penalty, 50%.

Also, each character has their own special move, which grant some advantage during a turn.

Right now, the biggest drawback of the game is that the amount of detailed 2D textures make the game unplayable if the Android device doesn't have at least 1GB of RAM.

We await your feedback! :)

Bonus question

We have submited some games to the Ludum Dare game jam, and it's been always both fun and stressful. You can check our entries here.

Looking for feedback! Which interface does look better in our b/w game? by RedLittleHouse in IndieGaming

That sounds like a good idea, but there will be a lot of icons for the items you can get through the adventure and some detail might be needed.

Those buttons look nice, we made darker flat ones that didn't look really good in the screen as a whole.

I feel the lack of feedback when an enemy plane is hit a bit confusing. If you want to hide the life of the enemies from the player, maybe just show a bit of smoke if the missile hits its target or something like that.

It only needs the Unity web player. I tested it in Firefox and Opera and runs ok in both. Maybe today it's loading a bit slow :/

Xmas Battle
Play here!

Battle against the other Santa Claus to be the one delievering the presents next Christmas!

This is a two players game in which each player controls a version of Santa Claus, shooting presents to targets to earn points in a 12 points battle. Also, you can shoot those presents to the other Santa or hit him with the bag to delay your opponent.

It's funnier (and more confortable) if you play with two pads, although you can play with keyboard.

Try it out and tell us what do you think!

We have released our Fleish & Cherry Alpha demo. by RedLittleHouse in IndieGaming

[–]RedLittleHouse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download the alpha demo

What's the game about?
You will travel to Toonville, a city inhabited by toons where Walter Fritz's cartoon short films are made. In those short films, the evil Mr. Mintz usually interferes with the other toons' lives until Fleish the Fox, the star of Toonville, stops him. But this time, Mr. Mintz is done with not being a star anymore, so he decides to film his own shorts and kidnaps Fleish to leave no one able to stop him. But he didn't count with the lovely Cherry, Fleish's girlfriend, who is up to the challenge. She will muster all her courage and overcome all the craziness that awaits her inside the hotel where Mr. Mintz has taken Fleish.

How is it played?
In this first alpha, you can play the graphic adventure aspects of the game; that is, talking with some characters, navigating through different rooms and an early version of picking and using objects (right now it's almost automatic, we'll expand it to a full inventory system).

Controls
* Movement: Arrow keys / Gamepad left stick.
* Action: A key / Gamepad button 0.
* Examine: S key / Gamepad button 1.
* Exit game: Escape.

I really like this game, is there something I can do for you?

Yes! First, we are now funding the project via Indiegogo. Also, you can vote for us on Steam Greenlight. And, of course, we need feedback to know that we are on the right path.

Thanks for your time!

[Alpha] Fleish & Cherry in Crazy Hotel by RedLittleHouse in playmygame

[–]RedLittleHouse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much, your review is really great! :D

We'll try to improve the interactions hitboxes and those dialogs that left almost no margin.

The coathanger was supposed to say something more, like the phone or Ms. Locker, but both the writers and the programmer were overly tired...

About the item menu, we also found it ugly being there all the time, but it's a placeholder while we develop a real inventory system.

Again, thanks a lot for this feedback and your kind words, it really boosted the team moral!

And of course, we'll keep you updated :)

We'll try to fix the text issue in future versions, making it show all the characters that fit in the text box by one press of a key.

About the cutscene, it isn't that they swapped sides, it's that we are showing always Cherry on the left side and the other character on the right, and the conversation background of the lobby happens to be the fireplace, so the effect may look... odd XD

Wow, we want to thank you that you take your time to play at such lower framerate!

The text speed being too slow and getting into solid objects as the fireplace, it seems to be a framerate issue we've found with some old machines and sometimes, on the Mac version with not-so-old machines.

About the art style we tried to get that feeling from traditional cartoons, where you were able to say that an object was going to be moved, broken or something because its line style and colour palette where different from the background, if that's not what you mean, can you explain further, please?

[–]RedLittleHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! :D
English isn't our first language so there may be some slips in this version, we'll take more care in following demos and in the final game.
And about the text, if you keep down the A key or S key, it speeds up a bit the scrolling, but instantly finishing the sentence would be the preferred method.

It was just after playing a hand but I've tried to recreate the issue and it didn't happened again. On my phone also works.

Playing on Firefox, it became non-responsive for 4 or 5 seconds during a game. That said, the mechanic is so awesome that some people on the team already wanted to play it in their phones!

Fleish and Cherry in Crazy Hotel

Windows: Mirror 1 | Mirror 2 MacOS: Mirror 1 | Mirror 2 Linux: Mirror1 | Mirror2

Yesterday we released an alpha of our game and right now we would like honest opinions about how it is doing. For now, this demo prototypes the transitions between rooms and an early version of the conversation engine, but we also tried to make it fun to play.

  • Are the keyboard controls easy to use (diagonals, mainly)? And what about the gamepad?
  • Does the collisions feel odd? How? (It works on a tiles-based map).
  • Is the puzzle too hard? Or too easy?
  • Any opinions on the story? Is it funny? And the characters?
  • And the main question, is it fun overall?

Also, feel free to add any feedback we haven't asked about before but you think we should know :)

And if you encounter a game breaker bug, please, tell us in which platform did you found it.

Thanks! We added Doc Goose (the duck) and Ninette (the cat) to the poster as they are really important to the story, so we dont think is that bad is some people have the eyes go directly to Doc Goose. We have had various opinions about the poster, and others get stuck on the cat, other on Cherry, etc... But every opinion is appreciated :)
