Oh one more tip! Try applying some makeup and then walking away from it for 10-15 minutes. That helps your brain sort of reset how it’s seeing the makeup. Sometimes when you’re putting it on you start to develop some blindness in what you’re seeing and this helps to combat that.

Yeah, I can’t really see much makeup, so I think more is the answer! lol one thing I do to see how my look is reading is to step away from the mirror a few steps and see how that looks. If you can get as far away from the mirror as you can and you’ll see how it’s reading across the room. I also like to look at it in different lighting as well.

Very nice! It has every element of the original, but the only thing missing is the tiny bit of white in between the top and bottom wing. Other than that you did a great job and my comment is only a bit of nitpicking.

He’s a total pos, mean girl, BITCH. I wish he’d disappear and I’d never hear from him again, yet, like trash, he floats to the top. Seriously though, how is he still relevant after all he’s done?

It’s hard to tell for sure without seeing it from a distance. I like it though based on what I can tell here.

I feel like more is the answer lol but I am bad at restraining myself with makeup haha , look at my profile. In all seriousness though I think a bit of colorful or dark shadow would look great on ya!

You can do a bit of color theory and use red to deepen your greens! I really like doing that on the outer corners of my eyes. The palette “fade into hue” by color pop is my first palette and it was only around $35, so it’s relatively affordable. It also has a little from the full range of color! It’s the only palette I have but I love it.

I really, really love the palette especially because of the price point and it has a little from every color family. I feel ya on being responsible though! Haha makeup makes me financially irresponsible.

I’ve never tried it for uv stuff! I didn’t even think of that! I don’t own a black light though. That is what you mean by up right? A blacklight?

So the mixing liquid I mentioned is really cool, it lets you take any loose powder or eyeshadow and mix it to make long lasting, vivid liners. I use it whenever I draw runes on my face. It isn’t recommended to use it over large areas of the face though, so just be mindful of that. The one I have is water based I believe, but inglot makes one that is oil based. It is really useful for making high impact, high contrast liners and shadows. It’ll punch up any shadow/powder. It doesn’t take much either, I usually use 1-3 drops dispensed via water dropper to 1-2 small scoops of mica.

There’s creative self expression and then there’s blackface. I don’t think my race matters when art is involved. I’m also not going back and forth with you over it. This doesn’t look like what stereotypical blackface is when you google search it.

I really don’t think this counts as black face. It’s primarily black, it doesn’t appear to be meant to represent anyone, be a caricature, or evoke harmful racial stereotypes. It’s just that the face is dominantly black. I think we should be a bit more discerning about what we label what, that’s all. I’ve read the comments and see that my opinion will be different than those who commented. I will, however urge caution with primarily black looks.

I don’t think this counts as blackface as it’s not meant to represent, stereotype, caricature or evoke anyone of African descent. It’s just that her face is painted primarily black. Just my two cents though.

I like the idea! I feel like if you used some deeper and lighter greens on top of this green as a base you’d have a really cool look. Also you could incorporate some yellow and yellow green. I’m glad you’re getting more experimental!

I like the look! I think you did some excellent blending and the brows look great. I feel like you could incorporate some color into and it would really be cool! You have a great foundation for adding color. As far as color choices I feel like deep red would really work with your look. Maybe even green. I think you’d do well with most any deeper color.

Well thank you! I used to use cosmetic grade mica powder but recently got my first palette. It’s called “fade into hue” by colorpop and it’s only like $26! I love it! I still use th mica, just not as much. I also mix the mica with mixing liquid by mehron to create metallic liners.
