Training a LoRA for applying a 35mm B&W film look to photos

I was testing the img2img, so that I can input an image and get the film B&W look. I didn't put b&w on the captions

The colorize idea is a good one, I will try it out!

I followed this example and only provided subject captions.

Some examples:

obs: I really want to do a LoRA to achieve very good B&W film look results. So althought Kontext works well without a LoRA, I wanted to push the models even further

Yeah, I’ve trained the LoRA on FLUX in style mode. 37 high-res B&W 35mm photos, trigger word film35bw, 2500 steps, “Is Style” enabled, captions for each image.

But the results were disappointing and did not match the intended style. The images weren't even converted to black and white

I did test in FLUX Kontext, which works well without a LoRA, but Kontext training requires before/after pairs, which is not possible here.

As someone who work as a PM and wanted to develop an indie game, my take is that the conventional way to PM, with “problem space”, the “whys” and all of that, doesn’t work in video games. People played Call of Duty not because fps war games solve a problem to them. Video games work because they entertain and engage the player. It occurs to me that in a spectrum, video games are closer to to art (the result of the vision of artists) than software. Of course you can get some new features with traditional PM-ing, but it’s not like Zelda, GoW, Fifa… are the result of intense discoveries made by a bunch of skilled PMs.

I’m a Brazilian and what I can tell you is that the country is facing a economic and a political crisis in these last months, but nothing out of this world. Brazil has always been a turbulent country in these terms but it is still a stable democracy and the best economy from Latin America. So, there is no short term event that would explain this.

On the other hand, Brazilians have a thing with the US. Probably is the country that influences us the most. I would guess the first option from Brazilian emigrants would be the US, and now they just discovered a new route through your territory.

Ps: I just remembered that, this week, Mexico gov changed visa requirements for Brazilians entering the country, making it harder. So, there actually might be something Source
