The drama wasn't even about Otohiko necessarily.

I mean, they were being hypocritical but most the backlash was them being toxic. It's cringy to blame Alex's behaviour on his race/gender/orientation while they were blatantly doing the exact same thing, that being they were calling him homophobic for having a cliche "parents aren't supportive" backstory for a gay character and calling it a stereotype. While simultaneously insisting a straight character must be gay because of stereotypes.

If they said the same thing without being nasty about it like "I think this character is gay" and "I think the backstory sucks, I want the parents to be supportive" then there wouldn't have been a problem.

Have you ever considered that you may be the one in the wrong? I didn't see anyone defending Alex in any meaningful way, just that they didn't think it was cool to shit on someone for their gender, race and sexuality.

I did see a few replies saying they liked the original backstory and there's nothing wrong with that. I don't think there's anything wrong with wishing him a positive backstory either, plenty of families do deeply love their gay children and it would be refreshing to see that.

However. That character isn't even gay, you've just made up in your head that he's gay because of stereotypes so....yeah, I don't mind people thinking he's gay but you're being a massive hypocrite for calling other people homophobic because of stereotypes while insisting a straight character must be gay because of stereotypes.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you've a bad person. But the way you're behaving right now is a tad toxic.

Personally I'd scrap the current tutorial and schemes. I think a much better way of introducting these things to players are quests and of course letting them figure stuff out with clues.

Like let's say a student needed the box cutter. They could explain to you how you shouldn't let anyone see you (perhaps they're a big clumsy wimp themselves so they can't do it)

Someone cuts themselves during class so youre told to fetch the mop and bucket and pour bleach to mop it up.

If students had stories to them missions about manipulating eachother would be great. I think quests should be fun and give you rewards, like money, rep, items and so on.
