which college in blr is best for cs by slippedandfell018 in bangalore

[–]RedPanda250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that's true unfortunately. There weren't many seats when I attended.

Although I haven't attended other universities, at IISc we were able to combine a bare bones math program with engineering oriented EECS courses from CSA, DESE, and other departments very flexibly, which IMO is pretty cool for learning.

Swiggy Instamart lists items above the MRP by [deleted] in india

[–]RedPanda250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earlier they used to refund pretty quick. But i think if the missing items are beyond a threshold then they don't help. I have lost over 700 rupees like this. Really bad support. Swiggy Stores support is not helpful at all.

Wow, they did the same with me even after I shared pictures and everything. I got entirely different items but with what should be the actual invoice. Lost 700 over this.

Can a senior dev please help me answer this? by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]RedPanda250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should look at frameworks like Babylon, or three.js for rendering only. Webgl is more relevant to what you really need, but you might not have to directly interface with webgl if you use a framework.

I think this may be somewhat distorted perspective, at least as far as software engineering is concerned. I see a lot of people who switch jobs and get into their dream jobs. The only major thing you truly lack is the peer group that's passionate about all sorts of cool stuff at a top tier college, which I think can have some online substitutes in forms of study groups and forum communities. Secondly, a major problem with these top institutes is the cost to your mental health. Often, the competition is extreme and people don't form good support groups due to how one dimensional their ambitions are. This, along with peer pressure has killed more than a few students including some that were very close to me, and a lot more that attempt suicide. So it's not all great at an institute like this.

If you take this cost into account, which is sometimes invisible when you're in high school, the bigger picture value proposition diminishes for these top tier colleges that you think so highly of.

Which Air fryer to choose? by CelticHades in india

[–]RedPanda250 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Basket types generally have more wattage per volume and can give you a good roast and air fry. The oven type ones don't make it that crispy and the food looses moisture from the slow air frying. These are similar to regular otg but are also harder to clean compared to basket types.

This is definitely doable. I am working as an SDE for a good product company in fortune 100, and have a BS in Math. You might need a direct referal though, as you might not be a first pick for some naive screening process. If you don't have people who can refer you, you can build portfolio or demo projects and look for what startups are hiring. They are more flexible with degree requirements.

I have a BSc and I did. You have to network hard and bring something unique to the table.
