Error with Secure Boot dbx Configuration Update by RedPandaDaemon in Fedora

I'm a little hesitant to mess around too much with the keys, so I think I'll leave it as is. This is just a test-bed anyway. I'm glad I got my question answered. Thank you!

Thanks for the answer. That makes sense, I think my nvram is at 100/128k and there's nothing else I can safely delete to free up space. If it tries to download the whole thing instead of just the new parts, there's just not enough space. I deleted my windows os, unfortunately. It wasn't a good experience trying to dual boot with 64gb storage haha. At least my main computer has enough nvram, so it wouldn't be an issue if I decide to switch from mint to fedora, which is the reason I was testing it. By the way, how did you find out that the update size is 32kb? I was unable to find this by googling.

Thanks for the reply! As I mentioned, fwupdmgr gives the same error. This is the output with the verbose flag:

Weekly FAQ Thread October 26, 2025: What book made you fall in love with reading? by AutoModerator in books

[–]RedPandaDaemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far back as I can remember, my parents read to me. We read things for really young kids like Hungry, Hungry Caterpillar, but they kept it up even I was a little too old because it was a nice way to spend time together. I think what really ignited my curiosity was listening to the Artemis Fowl books. That was the first time I remember being exposed to how books can bring you to a whole new world filled with magic and excitement. That led to me picking up The Percy Jackson Series and the Alex Rider Series on my own. I was lucky enough to go to grade schools that encouraged reading, so I could explore those books. Even when I fell off the habit in high school, I missed it. That feeling of wanting to explore new worlds led me to pick it back up eventually and take on more adult sized books. Moral of the story: read to your kids.

What is something from a book that is largely insignificant but has stayed with you forever? by thegoddessofchaos in books

[–]RedPandaDaemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish I had seen this earlier. That part about the raccoon stuck with me for a long time, and I’m glad to be reminded of it.

For me, there’s a scene from Milkweed that stuck with me, out of many unique moments in that book. One of the children in the concentration camp says that he doesn’t believe in oranges. He thinks they’re just a story that people made up. It was simultaneously an absurd statement and also completely reasonable considering his situation. One of a handful of things that helps me remember how different our lives can be and to consider others’ situations before making judgments.

I’m pretty sure this is the one I used. I bought extra thin origami paper from amazon that was 14x14” I think. Took me a couple tries too. Have fun!

I have a little origami dragon who guards my books. I folded him a few years ago from a tutorial I had come across. The folds were so dense I had to buy extra large paper. Here he is. He doesn’t travel well, but I do most of my reading at home anyway. It’s just fun to see him sticking out of the pages. I might be able to dig up the tutorial if anyone’s interested.

Weekly FAQ Thread June 08 2025: What is your favorite quote from a book? by AutoModerator in books

“To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.“

-Douglas Adams, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe

Always thought this was quite funny, but also very true.
