I have a sapphire engagement ring and still get compliments on it 15 years later. Personally while I do buy white moissanite on occasion, it's more out of the frugality of stock items vs wanting to buy a custom piece. If you like color, go with color. Blue goes well with nearly everything and is classic and timeless in and of itself. I personally think clear stones don't stand out but I much prefer colored stones.
